How often do you change your oil?

Make a hole, coming thru!
Because there's a little more, it will take a little longer for the same amount of dirt to accumulate in the oil (percentage-wise). Not sure that's a big "benefit."
I've read here that significantly too much oil puts a drag on the engine, so I wouldn't put more than measures at the max fill line on the dipstick.
Check the oil level as per the manual (p. 232 in the 2006 ed.), IMHO. Warm up the engine (few minutes), turn off, wait a couple of minutes, then check the oil while parked on level ground. A handy way to do this is at the store. Park, listen to the radio for a song or two, check the oil, then go in toss the paper towel and wash your hands if needed. Done. If you're not above the max level mark on the dipstick, you're fine.

Last time I changed my oil I was at 7,500 miles but this time I did it around 5,000 as per Blackstone Lab's suggestion. It seems as though the iron and I think lead content is high in my oil
