How often do u check Tire pressure psi?

I decided to check the tire pressure for the 1st time on my TSX since I got it new back in Jan. To my surprise the Acura dealer set my front tires at 38 psi and the rear ones at 34 psi? Why? So, I just leveled them all to 33 psi. After leveling the tires, I could feel a better ride. What do you guys set your tire pressure to?

This is a common problem, and was discussed last summer. It seems that during transport the tire PSI is set very high, and the dealer forgets to check before you pick up the car. Alot of people complained about the rough ride and lowering the PSI helped alot.

33 psi in each tire is OK, but the recommended is 32 front, 30, rear.

Also remember that you shouldnt check within 4 hours of driving the car, because the pressure during that time will read higher.

33 up front 35 in the back. I check biweekly if not weekly.

just wondered why u set it higher in the back than in the front.

along with having a better ride, unfortunately i felt like the gas mileage was also affected, not as good mileage now at 33 psi than when it was at the acura's default level of 38/34.

I think the car feels more neutral set up that way. I even it out to 34 all around when I go on a long road trip. It's possible that you might pick up some mileage with higher pressure but it's going to be a minimal difference.

I should check more often, but usually about once a month.

I've got it at 35 front, 33 rear and have noticed a jump in fuel economy from 32 front and 30 rear. But it's very minor. Luckily the change in ride quality is also minor so I'm going to take what I can get.

Dan, have you thought about getting a thicker rear sway bar?

Yep and it's on the list. I'm waiting for a little more choice in the market before I make my move. My first priority is some summer rubber though. These all seasons have got to go....

well, for now i'll leave it 33 psi. yeah u guys are right it's really minor about the change in the gas mileage. for a preppy 4 cyl sports sedan i'm happy with the improved ride and still low prices on the gas fillups thankfully since gas prices are going to prob $3.00/ gal by summer for 93 octane i heard? ridiculous!

Why the different pressures front/back? Does it have something to do with more weight in the front vs. back?

Honda actually recommends 32-30 for the 4cyl and the 6cyl Accords and there is a difference front-rear in weight there although the tire size varies as well. You might want to adjust slightly for personal preference (ie higher in the back if you normally carry a full load)
I check my pressures once every 1-2 months, normally on a weekend morning before the car has been driven or when there is a major shift in outside air temp.
