How often to change nav disc's

I know that this is a very subjective questions, but for those who have updated their nav disc's, did you find much of a change after two years?

Are the disc's updated several times a year or only once annually?

Thanks

The discs are updated annually but most of the times Alpine just add new areas not covered. If you're looking for new updates for your city then check w/ Acura's website on the DVD you're interested in, they list the general changes made w/ each new update.

They add new areas but they certainly update the areas that already have coverage as well. At least that has been the case in Columbus, Ohio. That and they definitely update the Points of Interest database as well.

I should also add that the listing that Acura has on the website as far as verified areas is concerned is not acurate at least as far as the Orange disc is concerned. They list my hometown of Steubenville, Ohio as being a verified area (as they have for the past 3 years) and it is STILL not verified as of the latest 2008 update disc 3.70 (orange). I suspect many other cities in the Orange disc database listed as verified really are not. I have been watching the update listings closely over the past 4 and 1/2 years and at some point I think they got their coverage list mixed up with the Black disc (2006 and newer TSX's).
