How much is an 06 worth?

I live in Southern California and there are quite a few Acura dealers out here, so it is not too difficult to get invoice. However, I want below invoice for an 06 because it is a one year old car. The dealers keeps mentioning that the prices they are offering are so much below MSRP, though I do not believe people really pay anywhere close to MSRP here in S. Cali during the year.

1. How much do you think an 06 will depreciate as soon as the 07 models arrive? I am trying to find a way to determine what price to ask for, and so far the dealers are offering around $27, 300 for a 2006 auto TSX with nav, and that is only a few hundred below invoice and it does not seem to be a good price for a 1-yr old car. For a few hundred below invoice I would rather get an 07, and I do believe that dealers will be willing to negotiate below MSRP when the 07 models arrive. Maybe not below invoice, though I am thinking a few hundred above.

2. Do you think it is unreasonable to ask around $26k?

Thanks.

Don't you guys have Carmax in CA? Over here in IL they can appraise cars for free and tell you how much it's worth.

don't know how it's there, but up here (Seattle) I started negotiation from 26k and ended up getting one for 28,800. (last Sunday) They just wouldn't go any lower...ah well, at least they gave me a good deal on a trade in

Without incentives from the manufacturer, you won't be able to get the dealers down much lower at this time. When the 2007s start rolling in, that's when the manufacturer helps move out existing stock with those incentives. That's how I got my 2003 TL way below invoice. My guess is that the incentive on the 2006 TSX will be somewhere between $500-$1000. If you are willing to wait until they offer those incentives, be prepared to have a very limited choice of colors with the options you want. If you're buying the car, don't worry about the depreciation if you plan to keep it for a long time.
As for the the selling prices of the 2007s, the dealers won't drop their pants as soon as they arrive but if you can wait till the springtime, you might be able to pick up a good deal, especially when more difinitive information gets out about the restyling for 2008.

ironically it was hinshaws, but none of others seemed to have the combination I wanted in stock. One other reason I went with them was because they gave me a good deal on my trade in. how much did you pay for yours?
