How many years will you be keeping your TSX?
#83
I'm just curious how many people will ACTUALLY keep their cars as long as they're planning (7+ years, 200k miles, etc). I would guess very few, but only time will tell.
I remember buying my first couple new cars and thinking "I can easily drive this 4-5 years and be happy" and then being bored after a year or two when something else newer & better came out.
I guess that's why I lease.

I still see myself keeping the car cause I'm still planning to save up for a house, this car for me is halfway paid up and if I trade it in I will take a big hit and what a waste of money I put into halfway paying it up, you know? Also, since my car will get older, the less paranoid I willl be in where to park it. Once I get a house/townhouse, I will keep the TSX as the daily driver junker and buy another nice car, preferably AWD. I may want to try a German make car like the new VW Passat, Audi A4, BMW 3 series, MB C class, or stick with a Japanese car Infiniti next gen G35. Kind of sick of driving Honda/Acura cars all my driving career so far.

I'd like to get new cars frequently, but I can't justify the price. If it works, I'll deal. The TSX is my choice because:
- Acura has reputation long lasting cars.
- TSX has styling that, while not flashy is nice and will age well.
- As suitable for kids when we have them, as well as now without.
So, 8-10 years on this. What kind of improvements we see in fuel economy will have more impact on moving it closer to 8 than 10.
One thing I've noticed on the Acura boards is that alot of the owners not only like the style, they like the practicality of it as well. If they didn't, they might opt for some of the other brands out there. So I bet more will reach their estimates than you might believe.

My family laughed when I estimated my Accord would be around 10yrs too.
I've had it almost 6yrs now, and I still treat the thing like new, still runs like new. I'm sure Moda_Way will attest I'll have this car 10yrs easy....
However, I also estimated I'd have it well past 100,000mi too, not sure the ODO will ever read that :P

My family had a 89 Civic hatchback for 16 years, sold cuz of the TSX, and a 87 Accord for about 15 years cuz it got totaled. I'm probably gonna follow suit and keep the TSX till it dies or until I have to get rid of it . . . whichever comes first

I'm still having issues as to how long I should keep the TSX. I have 52k+ now since April 04, so I should be over 100k in 2008. Since the car was bought in full it is hard to give up the extra $500/month to buy a new car. Then again I don't really want to keep it too far over 100k. I guess it will all depend on the MY change coming up in 08

Minimum of 8 years+. I'm a firm believer to get my money's worth out of a car. I'm eyeing a FJ Cruiser as our second vehicle since we no longer have a car that can transport anything large. Plus we might be getting a dog and I do not want any dog in the TSX!!!! This is not till next year anyway so...

I think I'll keep my 04 TSX for a long time (10+ years) like my 91 Integra (which I still have) that has 171K miles and still runs great. Honda/Acura make great cars... but we all know that already...

I'll keep the TSX as long as it remains economical to keep it running. I had my last car for seven years before some !ssclown totaled it. I would have kept that car forever if I could have. The TSX is the closest new car in most aspects to my old one.

Planning on keeping the 06 TSX for atleast 8 years and pass it down to my son for his first driver when he turns 16. Every honda I've owned were still going strong with +175K on the ODO. I should get +200K with very little maintenance cost with routine maint/care. Driving a car once you pay it off is when you REALLY start getting a return on your investment.

I wonder what is the highest mileage someone has attained on a TSX. Not necessarily on just this forum, but in general... I suppose it really couldn't be too high, but I'm sure there is atleast a small handful of 100,000+ mile examples out there now.

I spend 2 much time here
gonna rock mine for atleast another 2 to 3 years, with all the investments i have made in mods it just wouldn't make sense in my opinion to look at anything new for a while
