If the other dealership gives them a loaner car to drive back... then don't they have to drive all the way to return the car again? or is there some other practical method?

I had 15 miles... The car I had actually signed for turned out to have 145 miles, so I had then redo all the paperwork again to get a car with low mileage...
Cars with this kind of mileage tend to have been used for road tests, with some exceptions as listed within this thread; I didn't want my car to have been driven really hard during the break-in period...

The lot attendant drives the traded car to the other dealership with some papers, then brings the right car back to the dealership from which he or she came from with some papers, done deal. If it's across the country or out of state they contract a truck to take their car up and bring the other down. But when i was selling myself as the sales person and a lot attendant drove to Seattle from Eugene OR for a car =P. So either way is how it's done
28 here. mine was a trade here in kc for one in minnesota. it came in a nice sealed truck so there was no chance of damage from road debris during transportation.

62. When I went to the dealer to test drive a TSX, they brought out a milano red, AT, non-navi, with full skirt & aero package. After the drive I said I would think about it and let them know if I was interested. I decided that red, AT , with aero was exactly what I wanted (after I went back a couple of days later and looked it over good in the daylight.) So I ended up buying their demo car, which had 62 miles on it at the time of sale. This was only a couple of weeks after the TSX model had become available. I figured that a few others had test-driven it before me, but since it was an AT I also figured it couldn't have been abused (too much)No problem. I knew I was getting what I wanted, and I had already road tested it.

It had 3 on it before the salesman drove the car to me at home two nights
before Christmas in 2005. I guess he was getting a Christmas
bonus if he made the sale before Christmas. Sure beat me having
to drive 3 hours round trip. It had 78 on it after he got here.

I was surprised to see 276 miles on the odometer when I went to pick up my car. It was a dealer trade, so I expected it to have 60-70 miles but not close to 300! It was the only blk/blk/nav/6MT in the area at the time, unless I wanted to wait for 2 months - so I took it.

I think over 10 is too much >_>
0 would be ideal ^_^

Anything less than 25 I would consider pristine. Less than 50 should be about normal.
