After reading all the posts about the crappy stock pads, I made up my mind that I was gonna replace them with Hawk HPS. Within an hour of taking delivery (about three weeks ago), I had my wife's new TSX up on jack stands with no wheels on and the calipers propped up with 2Xs, swappin' out pads. You should've seen her face! Now she says she's never driven a car that's stopped so well...

Rotors are stock btw. I didn't have them turned either because she drove the car from the dealer to our house, only 22 miles.

Being married to someone who thinks modding is silly I can tell you I've seen that look before.

i can second that one

Back the the topic.

I just replaced the Rear pads and rotors on the CG last week. About 48k. The fronts still have about 5mm left. It's very unusual for the rears to wear first, but whatever.

Haha, you should have seen the look of horror seeing the whole bumper removed this weekend....

Back on topic, I swear, talk like this makes me want to go out and wear down some stock parts so I can justify an upgrade.

Seriously, HPS by itself is a huge difference? Keep the stock rotors? Hmm, I think I could "get away" with that...

Against my better judgment, I will try posting here again.

F-off, overanxious moderators....all of you.

Anyhoo, 32K on stock pads, rears shot and squealing on the indicators, fronts with 50% left.

Upgrading to Powerslot Cryo rotors up front, Goodridge G-Stop Stainless lines, and Hawk HPS all around.

So it looks like the OEM pads last around 30k mi. give or take a few thousand. How long can I expect a set of Hawk HPS or Hawk Ceramic pads to last? About the same? Less? or more?

What I don't understand is why everyone is wearing the rears before the fronts, when the fronts do most of the stopping.

Are the rears a lot thinner and crappier than the front pads?
