I placed an order for my 2006 PWP w/ebony interior. 5AT w/navi over 2 weeks ago and it still has not come in!

I think its ridiculous how long the wait is. I placed the order with Wayne Acura in NJ. They keep telling me an ETA of 2/22 but i don't believe them.Has anyone had any good experiences with this dealer? I'm about to cancel and go to DCH Montclair Acura.

I don't know why it's taking so dam long!! How long have you guys waited for this dam car?

 

Cause any car with the NAVI option is rarer but AT with NAVI is just less rare then the rarest combo of MT and NAVI.

Remember, these cars are built in Japan.

Up here in Toronto, we barely have ANY 06's in general. Consider yourself lucky.

 

Ordered my ABP/Ebony AT/Navi on 1/14 and it is due in next week on 2/23. No promises, just the latest date. It was in production when I ordered. Have they given you a VIN yet. If they have not and can not you've got a while to wait.

 

i orderd a GBM 5AT w/navi and ebony interior from radley in NOVA on 1/17, they kept pushing the date back and back, i finally got a date of 3/2 and i just didnt want to wait anymore, so on 2/13, i just got a black on black 5AT w/nav they had on the lot

 

Ordered my RBP/6MT/Navi on Jan 3, and it's supposed to be here by the end of March. So you're pretty lucky only having to wait a couple of weeks. Remember, this is not a high-production car, like an Accord or even a TL. So unless it's on the lot, you're probably going to have to wait a bit to get what you want.

Ordered '05 ABP/6MT/Nav first week of January '05, got it April 29th.

just ordered my 6 MT Artic blue/quartz interior with nav and was told it could take up to 7 weeks

 

I ordered my 06/RBP/MT/Navi Jan 30. My dealer did a dealer trade for one that wasn't even built yet. My car was built in Japan on 2/3 and I was told 4-8 weeks after that to get to me (San Diego). No VIN yet but it's been a little while since I checked in. I want it before the end of February but I'm not getting my hopes up. Early March is more likely.

 

Dumb? I think it's a no-brainer -- who wouldn't wait 3 or 4 months to get something that will make a difference to him for the next 5-10 years?

I ordered mine on 2/9 and am not expecting it until as late as May. I ordered a combination of features and colors (6MT/RBP+ebony/nav) that is sufficiently rare that there are none at any dealer in the country and only two even being built right now (both as it happens being purchased by other AZers!), so it's worth the wait for me, especially as my current car is perfectly driveable until then. If your car is actually built (i.e. you have received a VIN) but still in japan it seems you can expect to wait about 4 to 6 weeks to get it.

 

There has been similar waits if not longer, maybe after you get more than 5 posts, and you see the SEARCH button you will find what you are looking for. They don't exactly overnight ship them from Japan. Your combo is a lot easier to find -- ~70% of TSX's are AT.

As for me, ABP isn't exactly Carbon Gray in populariy, 6MT is a 30% option, and a cross of 6MT with Navi is even harder to find. Plus, I don't live in Los Angeles where it seems every truck coming from the shipyard stops by.

Go ahead and change dealerships after 2 weeks, get your deposit back (if you gave one), try to re-negotiate a new price, and the other dealership will jump on the Acura computer locator and tell you the same lead time if not longer.

 

Been waiting over 2 mo now. Car is scheduled to be built 2/23 and then however long it takes to get it over here. Will probably be border line 4 mo by the time it's delivered.

When you want 6mt/Navi, you usually have to be patient and place an order directly from Japan. If the dealership is telling you that it's going to be 2 weeks, then they are either getting it from another dealer's stock or happened to find your exact combination on a boat on the way over here and it hasn't been sold yet.

 

I ordered 1/20 and really don't expect it until May. Good news/bad news: Nobody else has or wants red/ebony 6MT navi = long wait, but it'll be the only friggin' one in the USA!

First off, you haven't ordered anything. Your dealer ordered "your" car about 2 1/2 months ago and when you came in asking for this (common) combination, they placed your name next to an already ordered car.


So unless you're getting a dealer trade, there is no way you can "order" a car, have it built in Japan, and deliverd to you in two weeks. If you had requested a combination that was not available or on order, then you'd wait about 3 months, this is how far in advance dealers need to place their orders.

 

Lots of people have waited a long time for their car. One of the biggest reasons being because there simply aren't a lot around yet, being that it's the beginning of the new model year. So just sit tight and wait it out, or get something on the lot. Patience is a virtue! Believe me, there are many people on this forum who can feel your pain because they went through the same thing.

 

I placed my order on Jan. 13th for a RBP AT and was given and estimated delivery date of 4/17. Haven't heard a word from my dealer since the day I gave him the $1,000 deposit.

 

Is it for ebony interior? There's an '06 RBP AT with navi sitting on the lot here in Naperville, IL.

 

Yes, as a matter of fact. Not sure if I'm quite ready yet, though. I placed the order to intentionally have the car mid-April when I would have the amount of down payment I wanted, and have most of the winter weather behind me. I had just expected I would have heard from the dealership re: a build date, VIN #, etc.

Tempting, though, to jump on that one, given the long wait horror stories.

 

Deposit in September...2005!!! Still waiting!!! Factory must have run out of red paint and 6 speeds!

 

Ordered 1/29, dealer traded for one that was getting built on 2/3, and it has a scheduled delivery of 3/13. So 5-6 weeks after build date to get to San Diego. It's somewhere in the middle of the ocean right now. My dealer says that everybody keeps calling and trying to take my car. It's mine and you guys can't have it!

 

Good luck, I tried ordering an ABP in manual and the factory has said for two months they won't make it. Who even knows how long it takes...

 

I placed an order in Austin, TX for a RBP/Parchment, MT/Navi on Mar 3 and was just told by my dealer to expect it early to mid April...

 

I've seen plenty at the dealers I've been to.

 

Time to get that deposit back.

 

Ordered mine 6th of march and am picking it up in 9hrs time. So little over 2 week wait. I am in Aus and they found mine on the ship which was due to dock so the wait was due to customs and delivery etc

 

That's interesting. I ordered the same combination back in December. In February, my dealer told me that the factory does not make that combination. No parchment interior with Navi and 6MT. So now I am waiting for a RBP/Ebony/MT/Navi. It's supposed to be here in a couple of weeks.

Keep posting. I'd be interested to know if you really do get that combination. If you do actually get it, I'm shooting a letter to Acura to report my dealer. This is not the first time I've suspected they were giving me the run-around.

 

Well they lied. The dealer just wanted to sell you something that was on there lot or something that was coming in to them in there next order.

What he said. To my knowlege there is no combination that Japan won't put together based on navi or tranny (and I think there are 68 or so).

 

Yup the first dealer I went with fed me this BS so I finally went to another dealer and they said it would be no problem to order it. The first dealer just didn't want to because they weren't making enough money I guess.

Ordered mine Jan. 13th, was told to expect April 17th as delivery, but it was actually in on March 13th. So that could be good news to those of you who've been told 3 months, esp. for East Coast deliveries.

I suspect incompetance rather than outright lying. The car had already been ordered for several weeks when my salesman called and told me that Honda told them that the combination was not made and that I would be getting an ebony interior instead. I suspect they ordered the wrong color interior and didn't find out about it until we were weeks into the process. They weren't trying to sell me something on the lot. They probably made up the story so I wouldn't walk.

 

Placed order in September 05, go the car late January 06.

 

My CG 6mt w/o navi was ordered in september and arrived just before Christmas.

 

I ordered my NPB/Ebony MT on 12/1/05 and it came in on 3/9/06.

It actually is dealer incompetance I just checked. If you go to the acura website RBP only come with ebony or tan interior you cant get parchment at all. However if you want parchment I will trade interiors cause I want black no anyways.
