how to get radio code?

situation: removed cd player from 2000 Civic Si and installed in a Honda CRV.

problem: battery was replaced in the CRV and Civic Si is no longer around =( so I don't have the VIN and original owner forgot the radio code.

how and where could I get the radio code?

thanks.

There should be a sticker hidden somewhere in the car; its supposed to be for the service guys. Look in the same place as where they hide it in the TSX.... hint... open glove box and look up.

Ask your car insurance if they have your records on file, VIN# should be on your insurance card.

What did you do to the 2000 Civic? Contact whoever you sold it to for the VIN#.

Honda dealer can retrieve the radio code with just the s/n on the radio. Somehow you'll have to show them proof that you actually own this radio though (ie. it's not stolen).

if you can get a hold of ori owner, the radio code might be on service invoices if dealer serviced. my dealer prints it on every invoice!!

The original owner is a friend of mine and 3 years ago his civic was stolen and stripped!! Lights, bumpers, seats, engine, rims, suspension, audio system.... it was sad.

He forgot the VIN. Not sure how I could show the dealer I actually bought this from him.

Your friend has gotta have some old documents (like old insurance statement, purchase agreement or contract if he bought the car new, or maybe old registration) that have the VIN. I would keep bugging him till he finds some doc with the VIN.
