How to get into headliner

I found the source of the passenger side popping/creak sound I get when its cold outside. Just under the passenger side visor, under the headliner above the windshield. If you press on it, the noise goes away. In fact, I can replicate the noise by pressing and letting go of that exact spot. Maybe some foam between the headliner and metal roof? I notice that the headliner has a rubber gasket/seal type thing up front along the windshield, and I guess its also connected to the A pillar with airbag?

How do you suggest I get in there without pulling too many seals or breaking airbag stuff?

Again, don't need to get far in there at all, just where the vanity mirror/visor attachment is located. Few inches in from windshield, passenger side.

Thanks!

I saw one post where someone put paper towels in a similiar spot on drivers side but no instructions on HOW he/she did it.

This shows how to remove the sun visor. I don't know if that is enough to get to the squeak.

Thanks! A lot of the pics end up as red x's for me, but that might be my computer. I don't even think I need to mess with the A pillar, though the hole from the sunvisor removal should help.

Have you ever removed that rubber flashing from the front of the headliner? I guess when windshields have to get replaced that gets removed. Must happen all the time. I guess what I mean is, I can remove it for sure, but will it go back in place in a professional looking way ya think?

As you can tell, never done trim work or any interior mods in my cars before that wasn't under dash related...

Thanks again!

If you want to remove the A pillar, use a small screwdriver, and very gently pry up the SRS AIRBAG clip/ badge. Once you pop that, you can pull it right off.

Thanks. Did you find that putting it back on is as easy as taking it off? No loose moldings anywhere later?

Mine went back on real easy, no loose molding.
My cousin bent, or did something to that clip and it wouldnt go back in. He had to order a new one for a few bucks.
