I was playing around with the XM unit today in the car...it won't let me use the first category of XM (it keeps saying i have to sign up for the service and it won't let me change channels; i thought it comes with 3 months free...). I tried the second category (pressed mode), only a few channels are avaliable. Im not sure how the whole system works??? any help?

You need to call XM to enable the free service, methinks.

Send a reset code? The car should already be activated.

When a XM radio is not activated it will have channel 1 and a few other channels as a preview. It sounds to me that you do not have service. How long have you had the car? Maybe your dealer turned it on when it was still on the lot and your subscription ran out early.

we bought the car about 3 weeks ago. Im not sure how long the car has sat on the lot. If it did run out early, would i get compensated?

YOU should get 3 months regardless of what the dealer did in the lot. We bought an '03 truck in '04 and still got a full 3 months.

My TSX had the XM working before I drove it off the lot (which was only hours after it came off the truck), so I'm thinking the dealer just messed something up when they enabled it (or in this case failed to).

I'd go to the dealer first before calling XM headquarters.

im driving my 6 right now..the TSX is at home, my sister is driving it. When i get teh car, i'll take it to the dealer or i'll just have my dad call them instead.
