How do I clean my gold trim?

My gold emblems have gotten oxidized and spotted. Any suggestions on what to use to clean them up and get them shiny again? Thanks in advance!

My TL-S emblems have gotten that way too and I am too curious how you could clean these.

Thank you.

Prolly a good polish would do that pretty good. Try Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Polish (Step 2 in a three step system FOR THE PAINT) on the emblems themselves. That is what I use to get water spots etc. off of my CL-S emblems (tho they are chrome)!

The Best Reason for NOT getting the Gold Package. Looks like dung when the car is only a couple months old.

Do the trick we do at work.... create a solution of water with a bit of white vinegar in it.... That should get the tarnish off..

Steel wool. Works like a charm...should take the oxidation and spots right off (along with the gold).

Concrete cleaner may work wonders, too. Just don't get any on your hands...it burns pretty bad

Anyway, in all seriousness, I hope that you find something that works to clean up those emblems. I wouldn't be happy, either, if that happened to me.

BTW--If one of the above fails, combine the two and throw in some Clorox.

The gold emblems are just plastic right? Or are the metal? If plastic, use a plastic cleaner, if metal, use Mother's chrome polish.

Ok now I'm resurrecting this old thread.
I just noticed after all this salt and winter, my gold emblems are no longer shiny and have discolourations and green spots on them. It must be made of a copper plating. I think there was a clear plastic over it but obviously it has worn down and exposed the metal.

Is there anything I can do or is it too late? Are these things under warranty? It's just under 1.5 years old.

By the way, I don't care what you say but it looks great on red. I admit the front one looks kind of strange though.
