For $4500/month to be fed 3 times a day and put up in housing, it's not a bad offer for one THAT HAS NO LIFE.

Huh ???? you're not thinking of some Russian work camp in Siberian Far East, are ya ?
Last time I checked Japan is a free country AND a FUN place (You ever been there ?)

I suppose it's your choice to take the meals or go out & eat fried chicken & big macs\fries & all that junk....and if you wanna pay MUCHO $$$ for your own tiny apartment, it's up to you.
8-9 workhours and LIFE is up to you what you do after work...
