Honda Engines and Transmissions

Two "concerns" I have:

1. Any transmission problems that the TSX might have in the future considering transmission problems in other Honda models (and what exactly was the problem)?

2. (Lesser concern): I have always kept my cars until they break down. I hope to keep the TSX until it dies or 10 years later. So, no problem with the TSX engine going 200,000 plus miles, correct? Or, do high-reving engines wear out quicker?

Thanks.

Hondas will run forever, you can honestly go to junkyards and w/ some minor work on your part, get at least half the hondas there to at least start, Honda Transmissions are also getting alot better, Esp if u have the 6MT. Honda has been designing Really great Stick shifts for years.

damn where is my crystal ball !

1) maybe, who knows what Honda discovers or not discovers
just go to a-tl and search on transmission problems - plenty info & bitchings there.
TSX transmission is made in Jpn, AFAIK the ones involved in TL recalls were all made in Ohio.

2)
I hope to keep the TSX until it dies or 10 years later
Have a little confidence will ya ?

matelot, I could be wrong, but I think the Acura tranny's that caused problems were actually built in Japan, and then shipped to the plant in Ohio.

Honda engines will last forever. A friend of mine had one that just recently called it quits (due to poor maintenance) after 12 years and nearly 200k miles. As for the tranny, until my TSX tranny has issues, I won't declare the tranny a problem.
