If you hit vtec at 4500rpm, then you have hondata!

the best way to find out is to push the car to redline.. if it revs to 7300rpms the reflash was set back to stock.. but if it revs to 7600.. well your reflashed! Oh.. If its an automatic make sure you put it in manual mode or your car will not rev to 7300

He has an 04 so he's looking for the vtec crossover at 5000 rpm.

i kno this is a newb question but i need to ask cause alot of ppl have their own "feelings" on when vtec kicks in.

1. is it the sound?
2. is it a feel?
3. something else

It is the sound and feel (both subjective). If there's a aftermarket cold air intake, the sound is more noticeable.

If it's not reflashed the high cam will kick in at exactly 6000 rpm and if you're in 1st or 2nd with WOT you will know it for sure, intake or not.
