Hit a dog 4 hours after picking up TSX
I picked up my black on black 5AT w/ navi at 7pm today. I went to the Hawks v. Raptors game, and watched Vince Carter destroy the Hawks. On the way home, this big dog ran in front of my car and destroyed the front bumper. Can you believe that? I didn't have the car for 4 hours and it's already jacked up?
Does anyone have any suggestions for getting this fixed? i.e. Can I pay Acura to fix it or do I have to go to an independent body shop?
Are there parts available to fix the car? or am I going to have to wait for them to be shipped from Japan?
How much is it going to cost to get a front bumper replaced?
Last question: Why? Why? Why?

I hope you have comprehensive with little or no deductible. And at least its just your front bumper....3 weeks after I got my new TSX we had a nice hailstorm....I had just a little over 100 pings and dings

Very sorry to hear that. I hope the car and dog are both OK.
But I'm not sorry Vince destroyed the Hawks. He was unstoppable. 43 points, he single handedly won that game. Maybe I saw you there, were you one of the 26 people in the stands?

Back in my teens I had a cherry 67 Mustang. I hit a Great Dane on the way home one night. I remember my friend saying "You hit a horse dude". Needless to say the dog was a fatality and I felt bad cuz I like dogs, but the damage to my car was extensive. To make a long story short, people need to keep their animals on their property. The guy would have had his dog awhile longer and my 67 Stang would have remained cherry.

Why does this happen? 'Cause large canines are attracted to Acuras. A year after I bought my '94 Integra, some dog ran straight into the side of my car (while I was moving). I quickly look into my rear view mirror only to see this BIG dog shaking his head to clear the cobwebs. Then he proceeded to stumble across the street.
The dog left a dent in the body panel behind the door in the shape of his nose.

I just wanted to let everyone know, the dog did survive the incident. My little brother said he saw the dog running on the other side of the street after the collision.

I feel for you. I had my MDX hit with 354 dents of hail two weeks ago today and was only 6 days old.
Parts may be problematic since I had damage to 99 Odyssey back in 99 and no parts were in the system.
You need to find a quality shop. Paintwork needed I will assume bumber is total loss. What about sheet metal.
Key is a super professional paint shop who will match paint well.
What color was the car?
