Hey guys, car help please
hey ppl, I'm visiting over from the 2g tl section, anyways, the fam was looking to buy another car and came across a TSX that looked fairly cheap. Anyways, can you guys tell me if its a good deal.
It is a red 6-speed 2004 TSX for $7495, but the mileage it at 144k. It has new tires and brakes, description says it looks and runs perfect. I don't really know anything about TSX's so I was just hoping to get some feedback from you guys. One thing that is really appealing to me is the 6spd.

The price is ok, but you are buying a high mileage car. Be prepared to spend some money as things like the exhaust system, alternator, radiator, driveshafts and balljoints will start needing replacement. I'm not saying they will fail now but in short time they may.
You need to also be aware that the 04 has the A/C issue (do a search for more information).
Not to discourage you from buying the car, but I myself wouldn't get any car with that kind of mileage. If I didn't have the money to but a car with less mileage I would rather look at something like a Elantra or a Civic with fewer miles instead of a TSX.

Let me help you!
It's a honda, so it will last for many more miles. 144k miles is alot though. That's almost 3 times the number of miles for an average driver (most people drive 10k miles per year, and that car has almost 30k miles per year). The vehicle was probably a fleet/corporate car, or maybe it belonged to a traveling businessman/salesman.
If it were all highway miles, the mileage issue wouldn't be too much to worry about. The 2004 model was the very first year that the TSX was produced, so it has some kinks. Hopefully that vehicle has already been through it all and had them fixed (most notably the A/C system).
If you're eyeing a TSX, I'd recommend getting a 2006 TSX. It got some goodies, such as bluetooth.

well i went and checked it out, it seemed pretty hard to put into gear. there was a drone coming from somwhere kind of like it had an exhaust but it didnt. The radio and climate control panels were not lighting up. Besides that, it was in pretty good condition inside and out.
