Hey Canadians, how's this price sound?

Hey,

I went to my local dealership the other day, and I was able to get them down to $38400 after all applicable taxes (gst, pdi, freight, etc...). Is that a good price for a 2005 TSX w/Auto and no Navi?

Let me know.

Thanks,
WG.

what price did you get BEFORE the taxes??? you don't mention which province you're in.... the PST can make or break the 'bargain'..... PDI is $ 1200 plus $ 100 excise tax for the AC... and of course, this $ 1300 is all taxed...for GST and PST (of course we have it in Quebec.... why would they let us off cheap...???)

If my math is right then the pre tax, freight etc price is $32,640 which is just above the 04 invoice price which was $32,012. Not sure what invoice is for 05 but considering AT's are now $1300 more than MT's I guess invoice on a 05 AT is around $33K so I think thats a great price.

Sorry about that... i'm in Alberta, which means no PST. I can't remember what the price of the car was before taxes, cuz I wanted a price with all taxes.

So I guess that works out to about $34800 before taxes and PDI. I'd say that's an average price.

Its still a good price but I'm guessing the before tax, before freight price is 34K. You may be able to do better by about $500 or so.

I think I told the dealer that I saw a dealer invoice price sitting around $33500, plus an additional $1200 for commission or sys admin fees. I kinda low balled him, but i'm surprised he agreed to it. I'm trying to see if I can get him down to $37500, or at the very least $38000.

The 05 Canadian invoice price is $33212 for the car and $1109 for the Auto. You should be able to bargain it down to $34,000 easily. $1,000 on top of the invoice seems to be the magic number but you can ask your dealer to do better than that. I got mine at $34,012. The dealer threw in a trunk tray and wheel locks.

Good luck.

Sorry! $33212 includes the auto. The car itself is only ~$32100.

That's a damn good price, but I think you got scammed on the block heater. They include that with the car. 6 free oil changes is good though.... that'll get you to 48000km.

The dealership i'm getting the car from only offers two free oil changes. I think i'll try to squeeze a little more out them.

BTW... how much extra did you pay for the block heater?

not too sure what i paid for the block heater. it was just included with the rest of the negotiations, same with the splash guards.

i actually got the 6 free oil changes on top of the first 2 full services offered by the dealer.

But usually you need to follow their service schedule (pay all those fee), otherwise they won't honour your free oil change. So you cannot go to them and ask to have a free oil change without pay the type2/3/4 services and if you skip ne of them, they will void the rest of your free oil change. At least it happened to me when I have my Prelude.

try at least 500 dollars less. Which dealership are you getting it from?
I got mine 04 SSM/Non-navi for 33000 (everything walk out the door price) even. But the car had 500 (yes five hundred, not five thousand)km on it.

Question

Weirdg, afax226, Starvin, Narci:

Do the before tax prices you are quoting include freight/pdi?

Thanks

My price includes all taxes including freight and pdi... $37500 is the best I could do.

My price, $34,000 is before tax, PDI, and freight. $37,500 out the door price for a 05 auto non-navi sounds damn good to me. If my calculation is correct, your before tax (8%) price is $34,722. The PDI for 2005 is $1200 (in Toronto). The dealer is selling the car to you at invoice price. Does this sound too good to be true?

The first time I walked in they gave me a price for $33,700 non-navi AUTO just for the car, not including tax and other stuff. This was the first offer they gave me. Course I bought my car with Auto and NAVI after.

I have been quoted a price of $40,150 all taxes included (I live in quebec) for a 2005 TSX Auto (no navi).

Is this a good price or do you think I can bargain it down more?

Do you guys think if I hold out another month there will be additional incentives because they will start clearing out the 2005s to make room for the 2006s?

Thanks

Invoice for the AT is $33212. + 1200 for freight = $34,412 Not sure what taxes are in Quebec but using Ontario's 15% brings you to $39,573. Factor in $500 for dealer profit and your about where you are.

Does that price include any accessories? Try and get a few things thrown in. Trunk mat, winter mats etc....

FYI guys, there's a $1000 rebate on navi since they're not moving them. That would also aid in the negotiations... Found this out from another member and confirmed through the carcostcanada quote by a member from another forum.

i think you can bring that price down a bit (maybe ~$1000?), or, ask the dealership to throw in some freebies...
