HELP --De-badge Still showing ACURA and TSX

question for anyone who debadged

when looking at the rear of the car you can't see anything, it looks clean and free of anything there

but, if you look at the same area with a light reflecting you can still see the outline of TSX and ACURA...

do i have to keep rubbing the goo gone/emblem remover.....or will wax take this off ???

thanks

Try a claybar and/or polish, then wax.

A bit but i think its just the clearcoat. Go get mothers 3 stage wax.
its
1. oxdiation remove old wax
2. sealant and glaze
3. caranuba wax

Should be off. My acura and tsx faded after the first wax. After that I waxed it more and you can't even tell anymore.

Scratch remover is an abrasive. Clay bar is not. I prefer the non-abrasive method unless all else fails.

If claybar doesn't get it then the next step would be a polish.

Glad it worked for you Jay6speed.

Clay bar IS an abrasive!! You can get clay bar in varying levels of abrasiveness, but make no mistake it is an abrasive. That is why you should not use very often.

WHAT DOES A DETAILING CLAY BAR DO?

Detailihg Clay bars have the ability to grab the tiniest of debris and hold onto it as it glides across the paint. Used with the proper lubricant, Detailing clay bars are not abrasive and will not affect the paint surface with the exception of cleaning it. Anything that protrudes above the top coat surface will be grabbed by the clay bar and pulled out. The clay lubricant will prevent this debris from scratching the vehicle. Once clayed, the paint will feel remarkably smooth and have the shine that comes with perfectly clean
paint.

Well I do think so. (Actually I know so)

I used to own a detailing company and have years of experience detailing cars, boats and even corporate jets. I have included this exceprt from www.autopia.org, of the foremost resources for detailing online:

Read the patents on detailing clay and they describe very clearly that it is a mixture of a clay base (polybutene) and various abrasives. The primary detailing clay patent (U.S. Patent No. 5,727,993) identifies three unique elements (claim 57) used in concert:

“A method of polishing a protrusion or stain from a surface comprising;

applying a plastic flexible tool to the surface, the plastic flexible tool comprising a plastic flexible material having mixed therewith an abrasive comprising grains from about 3 to 50 m in diameter and;

applying a force to the plastic flexible tool such that a polishing force per area is applied by the plastic flexible tool to a protrusion or stain on the surface, and such that the amount of force per area applied to the surface is less than the amount of force per area applied to the protrusion or stain.”

Detailing clay is an abrasive system. If not used properly, detailing clay can cause light surface marring. There’s no need to fear if you use proper lubrication.

Everything I've read to date has told me that clay is non abrasive. You've just presented some information to the contrary. Live and learn.
