Helmets

Anyone have any recomendations for helmets? I would like something with a large eyeport because I wear glasses. It would also be nice if it were fairly lightweight but I'm not really that picky (it's not like you have it on for very long in an auto-x anyways).

I just checked them out. They look pretty cool but aerodynamics aren't going to do much inside the TSX! They're also pretty $$$. Not like I'm going to buy the cheapest thing out there to protect my noggin but I was looking for something in the $500-600 range not the $1000 that Arai wants.

Dude...There not that much, at least the motorcycle helmets we sell. What rating does it need to be? Maybe I can hook you up a deal.

Cool. I'm going to be buying in the spring so I'll drop you a line then. The CASC-OR series requires Snell 2000SA or M spec.

Bell's are garbage, I wouldn't put my head in one. Now a Shoei, that's another to consider.. The thing with an Arai is, if properly sized, you don't know you have a helmet on. You only have one head...Keep it.

I used to have a sportbike... and you want to get a cheap SHOEI. They work great with glasses.

You can't wear an ARAI with glasses... lots of guys need to get contacts to use them.

I still remember the old Shoei ad:

"If you have a $10 head, get a $10 helmet."

It depends on the glasses I guess. I've worn my Oakley sunglasses with one before, but the padding is so thick the glasses can move, not the most comforting feeling even with sunglasses. I will say this though, if you don't wear glasses, an Arai is by far and away the best lid out.

I recently shopped around and found the AGV flyer to be a good helmet for less than 300!! What do you all think of AGV?? Better than Shoei? Shoei didnt feel right on my forehead..too much pressure
Go to helmetplanet.com for great prices and selection
