Does the European version have the same dashboard as the American TSX? Outside they are the same I think but I don't know about the gauges.

My color is nighthawk black. Dashboard I think is the same like this in american accord but exterior is the same like TSX. The engine is 2,4 liter i-vtec with 190 HP (in Poland we have also 2,0 liter with 155 HP, and new one 2,2 diesel with 140HP). For many european car magazines Honda Accord is the best choice, with good price. This car looks better in real than on any pic!. Next week, like i said i`ll put some pic. of interior and exterior so You will find differences between TSX and Accord.

It looks like he's going to be able to help settle a lot of the questions about the differences between the TSX and the Euro Accord. We've had so many debates about this, often with some people seeming to take extreme positions, but then (usually) agreeing that there are indeed differences, and it just depends how significant you believe those differences are, how much they mean to you.
My family is from Poland and I have visited two times, most recently 1997. I was very impressed with how much progress had been made since my last visit, which was during the "Iron Curtain" years. There was a lot of great energy in the country.
Welcome marcutam, and congrats on your new car purchase. Nice to hear that the car is getting good reviews in the European car mags.
First question I have about the Euro Accord dash is if the turn signal indicators are placed in a location where the steering wheel doesn't block them most of the time? That's really starting to bug me in the TSX.

I've spent a lot of time with people who don't have English as their first language, and I've learned that it's a good idea to try to avoid fancy expressions when I talk to them. Marcutam obviously knows English very well, but I would guess he doesn't know what you mean by "bug me." On the other hand, even if he doesn't know it, maybe he can figure out what it means from the context.
Yeah, I do worry about things like this.
Welcome marcutam!
I'm one of the forum members who considers the TSX and the European Accord to be basically and profoundly the same car, except for differences in specs here and there.
What on earth is a Tarpan?

I think "what on earth" is another one of those expressions.
Yeah, I really do worry about things like this!
By the way, in my very humble opinion, this kind of thing is worth thinking about when you have business dealings in English with people from non-English-speaking countries. No matter how well they know English, usually they have some trouble with most "non-standard" expressions, and you'll probably do better if you're sensitive to that. You could also argue the opposite: that I'm being condescending. But I think not -- I think it's just considerate, and that they'll appreciate it. But, as is the case with most things, you could argue it either way.
Maybe Marcutam could tell us his opinion about this too?

Yeah Larchmont you are right, sometimes there is a much trouble to find out what some expressions means. I always try to find from the context but sometimes when i don`t know the expression I try to translate into polish and it doesnt make any sense or sounds funny for me.
By the way, to all people who wants to know what Tarpan and Syrena looks like here is a link to gallery (also my Honda euro accord): http://community.webshots.com/user/marcutam79

Those examples on this thread -- "bug me" and "what on earth" -- are examples that those automatic translations would probably have trouble with. Another phrase that it probably wouldn't do too well with is "got screwed."
The car looks fantastic. Were the fog lights an option, or are they standard on the Euro. Accord? Also, it appears they standardized the message lights and control labels in English. Is that how most Euro. makes/models handle having to resolve localization issues?

English is a growing and thriving language, much of which is based on idioms, trends, migration, and blending of cultures.
Thank you for heads-up on the issue. I do not believe that this forum restricts participation to formal international English. I do believe, however, that I must take the cake on incorrect spellings and typos.
"What on earth" is just my gentler alternate to "Whah'rt in tar'nation".
While we can see far more serious lapses in grammar, syntax, literacy, let alone politeness, this is also an informal forum. Forget not the intention. Informal speech is par for the course. (There I go again!
)
One common idiom that many English-speaking people use, for example, is "keep in mind". Without the benefit of an interpreter, that expression often doesn't translate well into other languages. You'll get literal, goofy things like, "behold in brain" or "contents in thought". "Remember" rather than "keep in mind" is the more considerate term for translation and cross-cultural issues.
Yes, idiomatic expressions are not useful for cross-cultural or translation purposes. But they also open the door to colorful and fun expressions. And do we dare stifle expression, given the fun nature of this forum? I think not.
And what about the use of contractions? If you are writing for localization/translation, you should avoid like the plague the use of contractions, (can't, won't, don't, whah'rt).
Where does the train stop?
And while we're concerned about interpretion, passive voice should be avoided by all at all costs since not all languages have a passive voice.
Where does the buck stop?
Marcutam: Thank you for posting the photos of Polish cars! Some of them are disappearing quickly from the motorways. Your Accord is beautiful! (What does "pretty as a penny mean", anyway?)

THANKS FOR POLISH CAR PICS!!
Wow, that brought back memories! I can't believe the Tarpan shot!! What a vehicle!
Poland had the first McDonald's in a gas station I ever saw, in a little town called Radom. They have had a 100% transformation since 1989, for sure. Its good to see it back on the map for real!
