headlights percieved color shilft?

when i drove my new 07 tsx off the lot (nightime) i hopped on the freeway and commented to my buddy that the headlights have a blue tint to them and he agreed that it was a nice effect.

tonight driving in the city and on the freeway we noticed the the headlights no longer has the blue-ish tint to it.

did we imagine this or just get used to it? i'm at a loss at how this could be.

HID's start bluish and then become white when they warm up. I suppose your headlights had not been used before you drove off the lot...causing them to remain bluish longer.

should be after about 75-100 hours of use before the bulbs colorshift permanently. i just drive with my headlights on all the time to make the process go faster. if you cant wait you can just splurge for a pair of philips 85122+ bulbs which come already at about 5000k.

Mine were green-shifted when brand new, now they are more blue than my friend's 03 TL-S. The color is really dependent on the composition of the gasses within--I doubt any two bulbs are exactly the same color.
