Hawk brake pads with OEM rotors
Recently during a 70K mile oil change and inspection, Acura told me my rear brake pads need to be replaced because there was not enough pad left (3mm - 4mm remaining). I am usually light on brakes (yayyy 6 MT engine braking) so I guess I am one of the rare ones who haven't had to changed their brakes until now. I am at around 76K and I decided it is now time to change the pads (was waiting for the proper time since economy is bad and money is tight). So long story short, instead of going to the dealer to change the pads (I think they are charging me $200 for rear brake pad replacement), I bought the Hawk Ceramic street pads from Tirerack and I am planning to go to a local mechanic to have them replaced. I haven't gotten a quote from anybody, but I was hoping that they would charge around $60-$70 tops. Would that be a fair guess? My main question was my OEM rotors are I believe fine, I felt the surface and they seem fairly smooth to me. So is there any need of resurfacing/machining them? How about sanding?
Also are the hawk pads compatible with the OEM rotors? I mean, do they have any detrimental effect on the OEM rotors themselves and warp them or something? If that is the case I would need new rotors? Oh and what about bedding the new pads.... do mechanics usually do it, or I am supposed to do it? Sorry for all the noob questions.
Thanks all.

It should be OK. I did try Axxis Ultimates on OEM rotors and warped them because I broke them in wrong. You should resurface or at least sand down the rotor for the new pads though.
I would just get new rotors and pads if you are upgrading pads already.

I'm currently running Hawk HPS pads on my 07 TSX. I pretty much replaced the OEM pads with the Hawks right after buying the car. I am running OEM rotors with the pads.
Like with jl1080, I also broke in the pads wrong, so my rotors were warped around 10k miles. I got the rotors resurfaced and everything is going well.
I had a local guy (i-modify) do my front and rear pads and it cost me 50$
