Have some cash....what should I buy???

First off, I know I orginally posted this over is Car Talk, but I really didn't get many answers I was looking for. After a few post, it turned into 'You should save up for a new car'. Mind you I'm only 18, and have no intention of getting a new car. I would like objective opinions about this if you don't mind.

Alright, so I have about $2,500 saved up that I can comfortably spend and I wanted to get some opinions and what you think I should get. I plan on getting all this stuff later this summer. I'm torn between several things, but here's my option list. I don't have to spend all of it as you will see in some of my 'options' but just give me some feedback.

Option A:
-Hondata Reflash
-Tein Basic Coilovers
-Comptech RSB
-UR Pulleys

Option B:
-OEM Underbody Lip Kit
-Tein Basic Coilovers
-Hondata Reflash

Option C:
-Advan Kruezer Series X 18"
-Comptech RSB

Option D:
-Nikon D300
-Maybe a 18-200mm or 70-300mm...not sure on lens yet

What do yall think? Like any of the options?? Have something completely else to suggest???

it depends on what you want
looks vs. performance
if its looks, i say basics, oem kit, and advans
if its performance, i say reflash, UR, headers, random tech cat
if its mixed, i say basics, advans, reflash

but, of the choices you have, i say B

You should posted here first place instead of Car Talk section...

Car talk section and Rambling section is known for people to bash on each other. All you got from there was don't mod, not worth it, or invest that money, etc etc.

I think if you have any TSX related questions then you should post here, you definitely will get better support and better answers through this section.

I already answered your question on other thread, but I will try this again... I would go w/ neither of your option at this point because I don't know what you are after. You should definitely sit down and think about what is your goal is, just like what jumpmanbsketbll mentioned. Are you going for speed or looks?

To be honest, if you are going for speed then $2500 ain't really worth it. I suggest that you go for looks...

You should tackle down big things first...so, suspension, RSB, and oem kit.

btw, someone already mentioned this... You don't always buy new parts! Used parts can save you whole lot of money. Someone is selling Tein SS w/ top mount for $800 at BM section...

They are 18" yes...I know most people would rather have 19's, but have you seen Tsx536's ride??

I think they look really good. I don't want some crazy outdone look. I don't want to look like a ricer, and I don't want to have appendages coming off my car.

Sporty yet still somewhat classy.

Catch my drift???

Not exactly sure yet. I've looked around a little bit and about the cheapest I've found for four is about $2100-2200.

Have any suggestions?

You should be able to get option a and b with $2500, but ditch the Comptech and get the Progress rsb instead.

I kinda like the idea of just the coilovers and reflash ... then invest the rest in savings/money market. I would give my left nut (hell, both of them, I've already procreated) to go back to your age and start my retirement plan from Day One.

Just my .

Sorry man, the Kreutzer Xs have been discontinued for a while. These were also the wheels I was trying to get well over a year ago, but I could find them. The only way you can get them now is if you find a used set.

What you can do is get the replacement for the X's, the Kreutzer Xis. I have them and love them. They have a slightly different spoke design, but they're fairly close to the X's that they replaced.

Oh, and with regards to your initial question...I can't vote because like others said, you haven't stated what you're trying to achieve with your mods (show vs. go).

If you can get your hands on a new set, I'd be VERY surprised. Trust me, I looked extremely hard to find these wheels, but couldn't get them. Still, good luck with your search .

Open a Roth IRA.. you can never start saving too early. I max out my 401k and a Roth IRA.. imagine 10 years down the road when you have a wife and kids and all your money goes to diapers and makeup, how are you going to save for retirement then?

lol 401k = free money
other than cool factor, whats your ROI on any of the other options.

dont mean to be an ididot, but when i found out my hella fun to drive 6mt LOST VALUE cause it was a standard/MT, i realized any expensive mod i make is money i will never see again. So unless you plan on driving your TSX until its engine falls out (15 more years?), i would save that money.

Lol....I'm a :no0b:....what's ROI???

As far as the driving part...I do intend to drive it for a long time. Definitely not 15 more years I wouldn't think....not as my primary anyways. I may keep it though for another 15 years. I see it being my primary for at least another 8 yrs.

As far as the scrooge analogy....I'm not really worried too much. I'm directing my majors so I can work in executive financial management, and if I'm in the right place at the right time, it would be almost a dream to work in a hedge fund company, maybe even become an HF manager. That on the other hand won't be as easy though. Lol. It will get me places either way though.

ROI = Return On Investment

If you want to be a fund manager, you'd better know what ROI means .

Hey man i saw you were looking at cameras too, i'd say
go for a d80 about 750-800
buy a 50mm 1.8 (100)and then some other lens and your good. ($300)

Then you got say 1600
so go with reflash 600 - 700
and maybe a lip kit then you got performance and some looks. (800)

That's really tempting to be honest.....

I just waiting a little longer for a couple things

1) I want to get just a little more money in my bank account....once I buy all of this I want to have at least $1000 in there. I don't like to have less than that in there....kind of like a safety net I guess you could say...and

2) Still trying to get some more opinions on the camera issue over in the C&P sub-forum....still not sure if I want the D80 or the D300

For starters get a d80 if you only know how far you want to get is like amature. If you really think youll find yourself going full out invest in a d300. Although a d80 will do and a d300 will probably get another version d3x is already said to be coming around.

Stick with a d80 and youll be fine more money for the car and maybe a few lenses.

i just spent a little over $2500 on my 06, i got tein basics, mugen grill, progress rsb, injen cai, comptech header, and a greddy evo 2 exhaust. up next: some work emotion xd9's and the comptech supercharger! i just did a little bit of both with my car, go and show. think about it, lowering ur car makes u car feel so much better when driving and it looks so good dropped. getting an exhaust gives u a deeper sound plus looks bomb from the back.
