BTW, I think dom is just looking for an excuse to get a new car. Trading in such a "new" car on another new car (albeit lesser) really doesn't save you anything in the long run -- and you'll have a lesser car in the end. Not to mention that lesser car probably won't hold it's value as well either.

dom, why don't you take a look at aftermarket for performance rotors and pads. Maybe that would help improve things and, seeing as how you're now out of a warranty, it would probably be a wash as far as cost goes.

Dom you should also look into getting better tires if you still got the stockies which are horrible tires.

I put 37K on a highly optioned 3 S before trading it in on my new TSX. It was a fantastic car, I wouldn't have traded it in except shifting the manual was aggravating my bad back. Gave me an excuse to upgrade to a TSX though. Reliability was excellent, tons of features for a very reasonable price, very good engine (best with the manual trans.), very good gas mileage, excellent handling and steering (way better than my old WRX) and the utility was great with the hatch. Mine had Leather, Xenon, 6cd, tpms, side and head airbags, and was $400 over invoice at $18,500 if I recall correctly.
Great car, you're not crazy at all to consider it. A very viable option.

I've been looking into it the last few days. I'm still on my original front pads at near 70K so I'll definently order either Axxis or Hawk in the next few days.

I'm on my 3rd set of rotors and these ones went on at 50K. I can probly can a new set under warranty or at least have them machined and hope the new pads improve things. We'll see.

meh

If the TSX is boring, I can't see how the zoom zoom zoom gets you all excited.

But hey... You gotta do what you gotta go. Crap, look at me. I went from a RWD 2-dr coupe to a 4-dr, 4-cylinder FWD car.

Do what make you happy and makes financial sense.

The 3 doesn't excite me. But in terms of cars that make financial sense to downgrade to its the only one I can see myself driving.

I saw a widebody Echo on my way into work today. Maybe he'd make a straight trade for your TSX Dom.

I looked at the Mazda 3, 6 and RX-8 before buying my TSX. I thought the 3 and the 6 were slow as fawk. I loved the rx-8 but obviously thats not going to do you any good.

Dont trade it in (your TSX). You will regret it. That is assuming you love the car like I do. I have thought about it too. My monthly payments are $555 and I wanted lower than $500 for my first car but I know that if I traded it in I would be so sad

I know there are little problems but I am sure the Mazda 3 would have just as many if not more problems. Plus its a Mazda I see so many of those ugly little 3s driving around. lol. Youre going to be in the Mazda 3/neon/Corolla/Sentra/Echo grouping

If the 3 had a Nav option, I would consider it also. If the Nav is not an issue for you, then sure. 2 things - make sure the kids seat fits right and get an aftermarket DVD player.

Yes, I know what you are about to write (kid is always in the Buick with mom), but trust me, there will be times you will be performing kid duty.....

Whatever I dont think you can even compare a Mazda 3 with the TSX. If anything the Mazda 6 and IMO there still isnt any comparison

The TSX is a great car, I bought mine 2 weeks ago. But that doesn't mean there aren't other fun cars out there also. You could do a lot worse than choosing a Mazda 3. Sometimes its just time for a change. New Car Fever is a powerful affliction. If it turns out to be a mistake, there are lots of new TSX's out there.

Eh, my 5AT TSX is pretty quick (IMO) with the mods that I have. I say keep the car and mod it...

My next big mod I plan on doing in the future is purchasing a 6MT transmission (also other parts associated with it) and swapping out the transmission... I already have the part numbers and everything planned out.

I love my TSX that much.

I never said the 3 didnt. What I said was that it is more readily available in the 3 hatch than in the regular 3.
