Haulin' Lumber With My TSX...

Yep! You read the subject right!!!

I'm amazed at how much you can actually put in this car! With the rear seats down, I managed to slide in 3 ten-foot long 2x4's and 5 eight-foot long 2x4's and get the trunk lid closed!

Of course, the 10-footers were slid all the way to the front of the car and resting on the top of the dash (with a cushion underneath) but it all fit nonetheless!!!

Loving this car!!!

I put in a 8 foot tall silk plant, and an 8 foot patio blind in there too.

My mother's new car is a '92 Jag...with no fold down seats. What is she ever going to do?

My friend's got a Jetta and he said the same thing. He fit some 8' lumber in there with the trunk closed.

My mom has an Avalon with no fold-down seat. It's very limiting. And to think, fold-down rear seats are a $475 option on the BMW 325.

I HATE SUVs! For some reason, those cars make me feel like a fat-a$$ modern-day grandmother tryin to look cool cruisin at 60 mph affraid of rolling over on the first sharp curve on an interstate.

And they keep coming up with car-based SUVs aimed at soccer moms who feel embarassed to drive their nasty minivans...

Wagons used to look nasty in the past, but nowadays, sporty wagons like the European Honda Accord Wagon not only look cool but handles like the sedans (of course we're not talking about the Taurus Wagon <puke>) .

And you all be carefull and try not to make any damages to your TSXs by loading it up with all that $hit...

Sorry, Euro-R, but I feel exactly the opposite. I still don't like wagons or the image that comes with them at all. I'd much sooner drive an SUV than a wagon or minivan.

It depends on the wagon. I really like the looks of the Audi Avant.

Try driving a '94 thru '97 Accord Wagon, particularly the EX with a 5 speed, you'll want it, they're that fun.

I'm with you...the Europeans know how to build a wagon. Audi, especially. However, hands down, my favorite wagon is the new Mercedes E-class "Estate" (what the Europeans like to call a wagon). It's SEXY!

E-class Estate

As for the Euro Accord Tourer--ehh It's WAY too bland for my liking and I personally don't like the rear end--it's too square for the rest of the car.

We're seeing that trend, but it's uncool to call a car or truck a station wagon anymore. But it's all a bunch of smoked mirror marketing! Long before the invention of the name SUV, station wagons could be either car or truck-based. The profile of an SUV is profoundly that of a station wagon--big or small; thus, I would argue that they are station wagons! But it's so emotionally uncool to say that.

We're seeing the same smoked mirror marketing with "cross-over" vehicles. Marketing fluff! Hah! Wagons ho!

What's also absurd is the notion that SUVs and minivans are a modern invention. Hah! How provincial! And what a succesful marketing effort!!!
