Handsfree Link problem

i just got my new acura tsx on wed., and was loving the handsfree phone link, until it stopped working. i was on a call, then another call came in on call waiting--i pressed the phone button to try to answer it, and it didn't work. then i pressed the end call button. the phone rang again, and when i pressed the phone button to answer, it didn't work.
after that the phone button didn't work at all.
i called the dealership and they said the phone may need to be re-paired with handsfree, but how do i do that if the button isn't working at all?

any help would be appreciated--i may have to take the car back to the dealer if this doesn't work...

Is your cell phone fully compatible? Or is it one of the ones that just passes basic tasks?

It's a cingular blackberry 7290... Do you think that I may only be able to call with it, and not use call-waiting?

did you try repairing? i've had a few problems with my phone but repairing fixed it once, the other times rebooting the phone worked just fine...

pressing the button even if the phone isn't paired should still generate a response from the HFL saying 'there is no phone' or something like that.... maybe it's your button that went?

thanks--i checked it again yesterday, and now the button works fine...
the numbers i stored are still there, etc.
but i did a test with call waiting, and it doesn't work, even though my phone
is supposedly able to handle call waiting...

no big deal, i just won't use call waiting!

FYI to all trying to troubleshoot HFL, I am wary of any information on the handsfree link compatability grid (http://www.handsfreelink.com/find/index.htm). My phone, Samsung A920, works perfectly but it states that it is an incompatable phone??? Go figure...is there a better source for compatability info?

Thanks

It does work. it's just tricky.

When you have a call while being on the phone, press the "Answer" button on the steering wheel, then wait 1 second and press it again. You've switched to the other line.

I don't find the HFL system in TSX the most intuitive and I sure hate confirming every freaking thing with that lady. I have having to say "YES" to every thing she asks. I wish there was a "YES" button and it worked instantly.

Also, it seems like the HFL system is only good for names like "Johnny" or "Travis" or "Michael". Throw in a couple of middle-eastern or chinese names in its list and you've got one confused blue-tooth system!

thanks--i'll try that...

i've gotten annoyed with the lady, too--but be careful about angering her, because she will respond by making the temperature 78 degrees, or switch xm radio to a staticky fm channel!
