I was filling up at BP yesterday on my way home and gosh I had to wait in line at the gas station.

After waiting 5 minutes I finally got a chance to fill up the car.
This African American guy in an older Beemer on the other side says "Hi man, nice car!"

Then I said "nice BMW". He asks "How is that Acura, I test drove the TL and TSX and I thought they were nice" Then I said "it's a nice car, it's not as fast as your Beemer, but it's good enough for me now, but isn't your BMW have free maintenance"?

He said well I got this BMW used it's a 97 528 and the maintenance is really expensive, so that is why I've been looking at Acura. I told him, yeah Japanese cars are less expensive to maintain and are just as reliable. I told him to look into Acura and Infiniti. I also told him Lexus, but their cars are generally more expensive than Acura and Infiniti and he agreed.

Thumbs up to the TSX and TL

After this incident I'm still contemplating what to do when the next gen G35 comes out at the end of this yr/next yr, trade or sell the TSX for the G35 or keep the TSX and pay it off and then buy a G35.

 

I get alot of compliments from people when I gas up too.

I got a compliment too at the Parts Dept. of Weir Canyon Acura couple days ago. This guy walked up to the counter and asked me if that was my TSX outside. I replied yes. He said nice car. Then he said that he sells JDM parts and handed me his business card. I looked at the card, guess who that was. Marcus (MrHeeltoe). We talked a little bit afterward. Marcus, if you're reading this, it was nice meeting you the other day.

I've already gotten compliments on my new TSX. I've heard reviews of the car which say the styling is bland... but obviously the car stands out just fine. It looks sophisticated and purposeful--people notice that. Well... some people anyway.

You know you like the next gen G35 coupe/sedan too, search your feelings, you know it to be true!

 

I've been complimented enough for my TL. =P

 

lol... I too continue to this day to recieve compliments on my car after 2 1/2 years of ownership.

 

My friends and people around my own age will compliment my car regularly , but whenever I gas up near someone 35+ I either get no look or the "how does that KID own that car?" look. Mostly from guys. It probably doesn't help when I get out of the car with a mohawk, tattoos and a couple of days facial hair growth.

I don't have a perpetual five o'clock shadow, usually it's shaved into a chinstrap with a soul patch, but I grow facial hair real fast so I do kinda look like a punk bum sometimes. Recently did away with the mohawk but my hair is still usually a bit crazy.

I do like it. But my head isn't so far up Infiniti's asshole that I can't see other options.

 

 

What other options are there? IS250 stinks and is slow, IS350 is fast but is hella more expensive. I don't want to get another Acura until I see how the next gen TL and TSX looks and what HP numbers will be.

BMW 3 series is nice, but after 4 yrs it's expensive to maintain. What other options you have Dom?

 

i was contemplating the g35 also, then i sat inside of one. the Nissan Nastiness interior design team struck again!

 

it's always nice to get complimented about your tsx.

last time i was at the pump in fountain valley, this 30-40 year old dude came up to me and asked me how i liked my car and i started telling him about how great of a value and ride it is. and then he tells me he's actually gonna go buy one later that afternoon. wow.

i wonder if he's on AZ...

 

i still haven't got any compliments from strangers, ppl from the stats are more friendly? or is it because of the fact that Toronto is jam packed with TSX already? i saw like 4 white TSXs in one small parking lot today during lunch (underground parking at pacific mall to those at toronto) -_-"

 

325, LGT, A4, New Accord, G35, Next gen Mazda 6, IS or next gen TSX or TL. Altough at this point I'd like to try somethig other than Honda/Acura just for the sake of trying something else. RWD may be nice too. There are a number of ways I could go. All depends on test drives and $$$.

It seems that you've made up your mind. All I'm suggesting is looking at alternatives to the G35.

I imagine if all TSXs in GTA were the same color (PWP ), one would think they're taxis.

 

When I got gas in Largo last week (26 mpg on that tank), I pulled up next to a guy in a black 04 TSX. It looked great, but he told me he had 63,000 miles already!

The guys at the car wash in Sarasota always comment on how much they like my car too (and the get to drive the really expensive six figure German and Italian cars). They tell me they never see one with a 6-speed. I must be one of the very few idiots to drive a stickshift in this insane Florida traffic every day. And I wouldn't trade it for an auto, even with navi.

 

Funny, I got the stink eye from a guy that was following me in his 04 or 05 PWP TSX and then pulled next to me at a light. I guess my 06 PWP was lookin too good for him since I just finished a wax and detail. Or, maybe it was the Mugen Air Spoiler and window tint that did it...that's all I've done to my car.
