license plates are bumper guards. I always use a clear plate cover on the front. They take all the damage and I just replace them every 6 months or when they get damaged. Just last week someone backed into my front plate... broke the cover but saved my bumper and plate, but thats what its there for.

Take the plate off, put it on something flat like a wood table or something and pound the dent out. If not just go to the DMV and request some new plates. They aren't that much.

In related news, I drove through some mud on my way into work today. How do I get it off?

Sorry but this is a pretty boring topic.
If we talked about every little ding and scratch we get soopa would have to upgrade the servers again to handle the load.

Funny, because no matter how worse any topic may be, nothing's worse than PW'ing, which a lot of people do--constantly.

when i was your age i wish my folks bought me a TSX, but no, i was stuck driving a 9 year old 1988 Accord Lx-i when I was 17-18 yrs old. you should thank your mom for buying you such a nice car, you lucky sob! You're whining like a 5 yr old that only your front license plate got damaged. you're a man, you can get a hammer and pound it back to it's normal shape.

haha gfxdave99, that's hilarious

Geesh. Dan is right on target. Sorry bud, but sh*t happens, don't whine; be a man and take care of it.

On second thought; why don't you just pay your mom back all the money SHE put into buying YOU the car, and then you can dictate who will get to sit in the drivers seat.

Ok, let me get this straight.... Your mommy bought you a TSX and accidentaly did some MINOR damage to it and your pissed off at her!? First off, it's really cool that she drives your TSX, and secondly it's really nice that she bought the thing for you! You need to grow up and quit acting like a spoiled little brat!

you're just saying that because she's a lady, if a 17 yr old immature punk guy whined, you would say the same things :

i mean gfxdave99 and slats are annoyed at the comments this girl started in this thread.

Yeah I'm annoyed! BTW, I currently drive an 88 Accord 5-spd. Just thought I'd mention that. It may not be a TSX, but I paid cash for it and I'm working hard and saving towards getting a new car. But at least if I buy a TSX I can take pride knowing that I worked hard to buy it. And if my mom drives it and messes something up I'll just have to get over it. People are more important than things. What the crap is wrong with people!!?!?!

and if she posted a picture you guys would offer to fix her license plate for her

i support teenager bashing up to a limit, but at least offer some reasonable advice on how to take care of the car and how to fix whatever damage there is.

hey leave her alone guys, theres nothing wrong with her mom buying her the car, its not that big a deal, if your mom offered to buy you a brand new car at that age you would have taken it too, it doesnt seem like shes ungrateful or anything, she just loves her new car and it got bumped a little. its no big deal, just try to hammer it back straight and if that still doesnt satisfy you do what Brooks said and get some new plates at the dmv. man people get mad whenever they hear a parent buys their kid a car lol.

Ahh dont let it get to you.. flame wars are fun

But seriously, what people are ripping on is not your problem but the way it was stated came off as being spoiled and whiney even if thats not what you intended

If you would have stated your problem in a calm mature manner you would have had a less flaming response, thats all..

Did it crack the plate holder? If not just take the plate off and see if it will bend back, if it wont then either order new plates or you could get somebody more mechanicly inclined to hammer it out per previous post.

I don't think it bothers people that much, but you have to understand that the TSX is what's considered an entry luxury car, and so a lot of people have worked very hard to be able to afford to pay for the car by themselves. So it's relatively easy for a post such as yours to incite a little bitterness. I'm sure that you're probably grateful for the car and for being so lucky to have it paid for by someone else, but people here have been in wrecks, have had their transmissions drop, etc., so a license plate bend is, in the grand scheme of things, sort of "small potatoes" (no personal offense to you).

For what it's worth, it's hard to learn about auto-related things if you don't have someone to help you. Some basic engine-related mechanisms are still lost on me, and I have a husband who has done engine swaps. You're pretty brave to come into a car forum and start asking questions, so please stick around if you can--there are really some nice folks here, honest!
