Got My Economic Stimulus Check...
So I did me some 'Stimulating'
New Mods
- Rearview Camera
- Aluminum Pedals
- Footwell leds
Future Plans
- Factory XM to Sirius conversion
- Window Roll-up / Sunroof modules
- DVD and/or Video Game (possibly, I'm debating this one)
- 35% Tints
Old Mods (Never posted these before)
- 200W Alpine amp with custom mount
- Pair of JL 10's
- Alpine Type S door speakers + tweets
- Boston Acoustic 6x9s
- Interior led conversion
- Sound Deadening in front doors
The backup cam I got is great. It draws guide lines to let you know exactly how far you are from object as well as for the width of the car. Greatly increases your visibility behind the car and even works great at night. I'm definately loving this.
The pedals are from Excelerate and look great too. They were a breeze to install also and look great with the blue ambient footwell lights
For the footwell leds, I have them hooked up so that they go on and off with the rear dome ligths. They fade in and out, looks 100% stock. It adds a very classy look to the interior. I also have them so that I can turn them on at any time as well, but I usually leave them tied to the dome lights. This should have come stock with the car if you ask me. Its just one of those little details that adds so much. Next step for this is to change them so they come on with dome lights and on when the head lights are on, but I have to get a little creative to get that to work.
I plan on getting the Sirius conversion thing to tie it directly into the factory radio soon. Right now I have a separate radio in the cd cubby, but thats got too go. Too ugly and hard to see down there. They finally came out with the thing to tie Sirius into the Nav and you can even use the factory antenna! (with minor mods)
Thats it for the new mods, but here are some other things I've done but havent posted.
I made a custom mount for my amp so it mounts to the roof of the trunk, next to the Nav DVD. Its nice and out of the way, hardly notice it. I love having a system but hate the loss of trunk space, wires, etc so this is perfect. I still have the box in the trunk (obviously), but the amp and all the wires are hidden away.
Also upgraded the speakers, and deadened the doors.
That be it
And, heres your pictures...

The pedals are from Excelerate, he's a vendor here.
And I'll post details about the camera later.
