Goodbye 1G, Hello 2G

I was just cleaning out my 05 TSX in preparation to pick up my 09 tomorrow. It was a sad moment, but I'm moving on. My 05 gave me many years of enjoyment, which was made even more enjoyable by the information I found on these forums. These forums are a wonderful source of information for all TSX owners and I can only hope the 2G forums become HALF as informative and resourceful as the 1G forums. Thank you all for making these forums what they are. However, I will still be checking back in to see what's going on with the 1Gs being the TSX enthusiast that I am.

Also just wondering, who all will be trading their 1G for a 2G? How many will be looking to another brand when they go car shopping again? So far I don't recognize too many of the older TSX members in the new 2G forums, but I hope that changes.

Here's a couple pics of the old and the new:

The car I hated two month ago is the car I love now. Great choice. Did the dealer give any breaks on the wheels or kit.

26Shaun...Well, I am a 1g going to the 2g in about one week and with the bodykit too...so see ya in the second generation forum again and I'll send you some pics of my PWP TSX..

BTW...that behind view of the TSX looks so nice, can't understand how anyone cannot like the rear of this car...BUT, because I LOVE it doesn't mean everyone needs to love it I guess but darn its sexy

ILOVEMYACURA....I think the 1g was an amazing car for its time but it needed to mature and had no choice but change it otherwise sales would continue to slip. As someone mentioned above, alot of people who hated the 09 TSX (and I was one of them initially) have revised their opinion and maybe it will grow on you too...the soon to be release V6 may help you fall in love all over again

Well your 09 TSX looks washed.......and there's tire shine on it.....thats only compliments I can think of since I can't think of any about the exterior design.

The 2nd gen. TSX has grown on me a lot. The looks are no where near as bad as I once thought and I hate to say it, but it is starting to make the 1st gen. look a little bit outdated when comparing pics side-by-side.

The price tag still leaves more to be desired though.

There won't be a V6 for the TSX.

nice color choice and the body kit looks really nice. The 2nd Gen has really grown on me but I'm going to wait till maybe a SH-AWD model comes out in either diesel or type-s. Even the grill is growing on me, let us know how it compares in daily life compared to the 05. Congrats!!

i'm going to trade in my 04 TSX when it hits 100,000 miles, i'm at 58,000 miles right now or when i need an all-wheel drive car or small SUV. if chicago winters were like last winter definately the TSX will be gone, but i doubt i will trade in my 1G TSX for a 2G TSX unless it had SH-AWD.

+ Freaking 1.

This car does look very good when you get by that grill....but i have to say that grill, when you do see it charging at you in the mirror, you'll get out of the way. But once you get around that grill and just the grill, with that kit, the car is really hot.

Congratulations on the car!

congrats and safe driving 2 U. Still love my 06 6MT/wnav MR/eb tsx, bought new 11/17/06, with 53,000+miles. Did like the 09 (except the front grille) when I test drove a brasque red one with 6MT and tech package- Maybe in April I might get one.

Congrats. I'll consider both the gas and diesel 2G in 1-2 years to replace my 04. I do love the looks of the 2G, and all the tech goodies are extremely appealing, especially considering that the 04s don't even have bluetooth. I'm dying for bluetooth and the iPod connection in particular.

Looks far better with those wheels. The stock wheels are far worse than the grille IMO.

I'd hate to be wrong and don't make claims unless I feel fairly assured of my source and I do at this time...but time will tell (and I am not talking years either...)

I also read an article over in Auto News somewhere that had a small bit about someone high up in Honda 'strongly suggesting' that a V6 would be in the TSX at some point.

09 with body kit right?
it seems like no attachment body kit, but the whole body is one piece with the kit.
anyways, Honda considering V6 in tsx? lol
by the time TSX gets a V6, Honda Accord LX will have a V8

i actually like ths 4 cylinder idea,
hey, if not fast, gotta have mpg at least

LuvMyTsx....and I think this "at some point" maybe be sooner than even the diesel. Its funny how some dealership refuses to share any information unless you rub them the right way yet other seem to be more open about it. This particular dealership was extremely open and didn't hesitate one second in saying the TSX is coming out with a V6. That being said, he did hint that the V6 would only be available as a special edition likely branded as the Type-S which would run the price at a few thousand extra but for those who really want the power, i am sure they won't mind...at least, there will be a choice. I am sure that in a year or two from now, the V6 will be available across the board for the first year, they'll limit the V6 to that Type-S. Given that there are no A-Spec package available on the 2009 TSX....its all coming together now Now for me, I have thought long and hard and I will stick with the 4 banger as I am not that interested in extra power and fuel cost and will focus on the fact that the 2009 TSX in PWP with an aerokit will look just fine and save a bit of my money for putting gas and enjoying it instead of trying to race to the next stop light and waste $$$

I agree. I think the 09 five-spoke wheels look like some covers that Ford or Chrysler put on their cars back in the 80's to "dress 'em up".

hey so i'm guessing for 09 and newer acura is starting to use sport bumpers instead of lip kits? cause on that 09 silver tsx which looks a lot better with the kit and wheels and congrats.. but to me you can tell the bumpers are a slightly different color than the rest of the car or is it just me? so im guessing the in order to get the "underspoiler" you have to replace the entire bumper which is whyt he price for the accessories is so much compared to the 1st gen. atleast it comes painted so that way instead of the lip being a different color to the bumper (cause of fading and the sunlight after some time) the bumpers will be a different color than the car lol. well like i said before congrats and good luck.

I spent a month weighing my options and was down to the 08 or 09 TSX. I don't mind the looks of the new one, a few angles it looks great and a few not so hot. At first I really preferred the 09's interior but spending more time with it, I don't really like the busyness of the console and felt the navi screen had too much glare. The seats seem more comfy in the 09 and the ELS sound system is amazing.

However the two main problems I had with the 09 were the electric power steering, I really disliked it, and while it wasn't awful at high speeds, it was atrocious at low speeds. Also little things like plastic door handles I think will be changed in future years. It's a promising car and definitely looks more modern from the outside than the 1G. Finally the price of the 08 now swung the 1G as my choice.

Congrats though I do like the looks of yours and you're going to love it I'm sure.

hey guys try Acura of Athens they're really good on prices on all Acura model accessories (800)546-1076 when the girl at the front desk picks up ask for parts and you'll get either william or phillip who btw are super friendly, tell them Fareed referred you and ask for there internet pricing..should be very good i have an 06 rl and got my entire underspoiler and decklid from them.i saved $300.+ dollars with shipping rather than ordering from a local acura dealer such as rallye acura or paragon acura.
