I don't know much about non-synthetic brands. Any time I've gotten an oil change with regular oil I just take whatever the place changing it gives me. In the case of my motorcycle (changing it myself), whatever was on the shelf at Advance Auto. Actually I think I ended up using a non-synthetic Mobil motorcycle oil for that.

However, I am curious as to why you seem to have an aversion towards synthetic oil. Everyone has their preference, just wondering what the reason is.

I use Mobil 1 filter and oil :-)

Never used the HAMP but I see em on eBay and what not. You can buy those in bulk or any decent oil filter at your local auto store should do the trick.

I use the blue OEM Honda ones - made by Toyo Roki in Japan. I believe it's the S2000 filter but I might be wrong -- I bought about 8 of them a few years ago so it's been a while since I've actually looked into this (I just grab one off of the shelf and install it, I don't look at it too hard each time).

Go with a good synthetic (Pennzoil Platinum is a great synthetic oil that isn't too expensive at all), and a decent filter.

I usually use K&N's filter. It has a 1" nut on the bottom of it so removal is pretty easy if you have a 1" socket or wrench.

i use the k&n filter, but from what i've read i believe the mfg of my filter is the same as mobil 1. therefore, since mobil1 filter is a tiny bit cheaper ... MOBIL 1 FILTER FTW

You are going to have 100 different opinions, OEM is good, mobil 1 is good, i use purolator pure one, 2 for $10 cheap enough. For those like Mobil 1, the Purolator got 99.9% filtration on ISO test.

Purolator Pureone, can't beat this filter for $5-$6.

99.9% filteration rate, which is higher than the Mobil 1 filter.

i have always used NAPA Gold. Great filters. I'm not a fan of Mobil Oil because of the company. I won't purchase their products.

Does the OEM Honda S2000 Filter work on the TSX? I've got an S2K and just picked up a TSX. Someone up there ^ said they think they may be the same? Anyone know for sure?

TSX OEM filter - 15400-PLM-A01 (or -A02)
S2000 new OEM filter - 15400-PCX-004

The new S2000 filter looks small height wise, but wide.

I read a filter comparison article long time ago, they compared with K&N, M1...,concluded pureone is best for quality/money.

The S2000 filter does work. In fact, I am using it right now. It is much bigger wider than the TSX filter as was mentioned with more fins to capture dirt.
