Well hopefully that price includes tax and all other fees included. It could be worse. It could be $38,000. j/k sorry, had to.

I, uh, got an '04 with the same equipment for $29.5k off the lot (Tax, title, everything). No extended warranty. But, uh, my deal was over 18 months ago. The cars will still in demand then (had to wait 6 weeks for it).

I think you got screwed. Sorry buddy.

Edit to add: I think I got them to knock between $1200 and $1300 off sticker for me.

The base for my car was 28600. Then i got 7 years 70K miles with 0 deductible for 1300. Thats a total of 29900. then tax and every other fee was 2100. I heard from a lot of people that this was a really good deal. Someone tell me this was bad by telling me what they payed, please.

I had $1700 knocked off MSRP with free tint and all weather mats. 06.

edit: that's 2.5% over invoice before destination

$28,486 with tax and everything before applying trade in ($2500 for 98 ford taurus).

EDIT: no nav, but that wouldn't have added more than 1200-1400 more at most.

well considering he got navi which adds 2g extra and the extended warranty, 1600 dollars... that sounds sorta about right. he didn't get completely ripped off.....

but then again, I only paid $25,500 + TTL for my '05 Auto non-Navi.

06? wow. well you ripped them off but i check the "TSX owner sign in" forum and most people came out around 28500 when they got nav. Someone correct me and please will people just take a second to tell me how much they got their 06 for after all the fees and taxes and if they bought nav or not?

these bozo's don't know what they are talking about = they aren't using 2006 prices and aren't breaking out the extended warranty.

For starters the 2006 base for a navi is $30,505. edmunds says invoice is $27,257 and otehers are paying $29,836 (edmunds must be paid by the dealers to keep this number high) kbb says others are paying $28,675 for this model your $28,600 is a bit lower = this is a good deal.

IMHO you got taken on the extended warranty. The car comes with a 5/50,000 warranty and the drive train has a 6/70,000 warranty so for $1,300 you get coverage for 20,000 miles on items that aren't likely to to cost much if they do fail. Please remember that honda/acura cost more because they are more reliable you've already paid a premumum for that. You sohuld not expect any problems from this car for at least 100K, which btw is the first time they recommend a tune-up.

The dealers can make more profit off these warranties and the financing (whatever rate they financed you fore they got at least 1-2 points for themselves) than the markup on the car.

Now, don't let the service department start charging you for worthless "recommeded service".

besides anyway dude, u paid for it already, nothing you can do about it now, u agreed to that price with the dealer, and paid.
you should have checked here first, and got some ideas, if you were that concerned with it.
now that you have the car, throw it through some turns, and go nuts, ull forget about the price you paid real quick

I agree with others, the only mistake I think you made is in buying the extended warranty. Those things are all dealer profit, you'll definitely not get $1300 plus interest out of it. If you take the 1300 off, $30,700 is a very reasonable out-the-door price for an 06 w/nav, seems like that backs into about $28,000 or so before tax, license, fees, and of course the warranty.

Don't sweat it, you learned never to buy the stupid warranty at 16. You're young, enjoy your new car!

Check your invoice, is that about what you paid before tax, fees, etc. about $28,000? That seems really low especially when MSRP is about $30,500 w/ destination.

ouch

I got my 05 TSX AT with Navi for $23,700.00 I did have a clunker trade-in which they gave me 3,000.00 for. The TSX only had 2400 miles on it with the extended warrenty because it was certified. I think the asking price was 28k I got them to 26,500 and then the 3,000 for trade in. I love the car and thats whats important here you might have paid a bit more but at least the car will last and retain a good amount of its value. Don't worry what others paid just ENJOY!!!

danishj,

I think you got a good deal for the car under the circumstances. After all, it is an 06 w/ nav. brand new. The going rate right now for this car seems to be between $28.5K to $29K before TTL so I don't know how people can be saying you are getting ripped off. You seem to be paying a higher tax rate than most but you can't control that. As far as the actual amount of the car, it seems to be in line with market rate.

I do agree that you shouldn't have purchased the extended warranty because $1300 for only an additional 20K miles of coverage on parts that will likely not breakdown well beyond 100K miles is just a waste of money.

Buy whats done is done, just enjoy your new car and welcome to the family.

the price of your car, $28,600, is a good price, in line with mine ($28,200 plus 6% tax plus $298 doc fee). i didn't get any accessories thrown in because i was a bozo and forgot! DOH!

anyways. obviously, you got a good price on this car if that 28,6 is including all doc fees and whatnot. did you get anything as far as accessories? if not, deals can be had on them online (curry acura in westchester ny has an ebay store).

don't sweat the price, you got a sweet deal.

of course, the dealer took advantage of your excitement, and got you to buy the extended warranty, which is basically, most likely, going to end up beinf $1,300 worth or pure profit for them, minus the 10 cents of paperwork it required. but hey, you bought some extra piece of mind? so why are you worrying about it now?

enjoy the car. my opinion: if you bought that warranty, the dealer shoulda been willing to throw in all season mats, trunk tray, cargo net, or something. maybe a spoiler. but you got a great deal outside of the extended warranty. enjoy! post pics!

You should be concerned with getting a education instead of how much your parents paid for your car. (spelling errors) Be glad that you got something in the first place. Most kids get beat up Buicks or Pontiacs while in high school. Consider yourself lucky and have have fun.

since when do you get your money back if you dont use it? and "dealer cost" on a warranty is hogwash. it's all profit for them unless they have to fix something.

If your dad knows the owner, you would think he would have got the car at invoice, and much less for the "waurantee"

You both got

I also got mine at peak interest time, right after it came out.

Most extended warrenties offer your money back at a pro-rated amount, i.e 1 year into a 4 year warrenty, you get 75% of your money back.

Anyway,
I ended up paying $28177 including floor mats, trunk tray, wheel locks + $50 doc fee + $180 tag/title
