in florida, they just do dumb things that are pointless. most people here need to go to driving schools! but dont get me wrong some people here are awesome drivers because of the massive ammounts of bad drivers.

Yeah, I've seen some crazy things on highways around here...
But the reason Florida has bad drivers is 1) too many old people who shouldn't be driving; 2) Too many young people who think they're immortal.

You forgot to add :
1000's of retired Canadian snowbirds trying to get away from the nasty winter.
I just got a new TSX a few weeks ago, auto trans & no navi (it's mainly my wife's car and she don't drive manual tranny). After a few hundred miles of putzing around, I felt comfortable hammering it to redline. My two boys 8 & 9yo were in the car as I drove up the on ramp and since there was nothing coming down the highway, I floored it and let the tranny shift itself for a couple gears. Front windows were open and my 9yo says "...dad, that sounds really good, sort of like a little Supra but not as loud" and my 8yo adds "...dad, it sounds like a racing car!"
It does rev nice so we like it.
We also have an old '89 4dr Legend that has 106k miles and acts like it will never die, it's my daily beater; and for harder beating I use my '95 Supra Turbo ...thus the sound comparison above.

Yep, they're a chip off the old block
But to calm some of my concerns over teaching them potentially dangerous habits, when they're around I try to temper my enthusiastic driving with safety tidbits and comments about what I'm doing and what I'm watching and being aware of around me as I do it. I drive harder than most but I've never had an accident after over 30yrs of driving which I attribute to paying major attention to what's going on around me ...and just good luck I guess.

yeah, part of what makes the TSX so satisfying to drive is being able to spin that 4 banger up and feel like you are screamin deamon in a F1 car in the comfort of something with european luxury..
