Getting 23MPG on average after 10,000 miles

City driving (stopping and going) in the lower gears kills gas mileage.
Keep it at 70 mph in cruise control in 6th gear and you'll get into the 30's.
As for the guy with the Lincoln SUV, you CAN get 23 mpg with mainly highway driving. The V8's torque allows more flexible gearing. I know of Crown Victorias that get upwards of 30 MPG on the highway.

I have 23,822 miles on mine and the ave. for ALL miles driven is 29.690 mpg
Ave of worst 5 = 23.54
Ave of best 3 = 34.03
I am probably 30% or so city driving.
It is a little odd but I have a tracking sheet that I key in every fill up.

I am getting about 21MPG on average with a 6MT 100% city driving. If you have NAVI check the history in the advanced trip computer to see data from your last tank. My average speed is usually around 21MPH. So I am
by city driving. When I do all highway I get closer to 30MPG, I'll have to see what the average speed is next time I do all highway.

It is just more fun ripping the corners in the car than not. Still I cannot believe that your driving habits would account for the difference between the mph we see.

dang.. would it have anything to do with you up at higher elevation and less oxygen to burn gas up as fast as us down here at sea level? dont laugh, just pure guessing...
even though my light comes on at 270 or 280 miles, i calculated i still have enough gas in the tank to go another 80 to 100 miles at least..

I keep track of my gas mileage in a spreadsheet...
I average 20MPH in a 04 TSX 5AT with the A/C on all the time and I do mostly city driving... I drive conservatively... one time I started using the SS and driving a little bit more aggressively and my mileage dropped to 15MPH...
