Gauge Cluster

does anyone know how to remove the gauge cluster on a 04 TSX?

from what it looks like there are 2 bolts under the cluster and possible 2 screws behind it.

has anyone done this before? i've taken tons of gauge clusters out of cars before, but these new acura ones i can't seem to figure out

Haven't done it myself but it looks like you're right, there's just two screws holding it in.

Is it hard to do? I want to buy one of those after-market gauge clusters and install it in my Accord.

Just be careful when removing the plastic. Those things are made so cheap they crack easily!!!

its not that hard

first you must remove all the panels under the steering wheel

after doing that u just unscrew two bolts from underneath the cluster (to the left and the right of the steering column) they are hard to see but if u look carefully ull find them

then just gently pull on the cluster towards you from the top

becarefull not to scratch any of the plastic as you pull out the cluster

the reason i want to pull it out is not to change the mileage

i own a 03 CL-S and almost a year ago change all the gauges bulbs to LED's (used about 100 LEDs)to try and make it look like a TSX cluster, didn't look really good, and the LED's kept blowing out, so i want to open a TSX cluster to see how honda does it

I'd buy the tech manual before I pulled my dash apart to see how the magic works! That should give you all the electrical schematics/ratings and such for everything involved so you can duplicate it for your CL. If you want to be hands on... I'd check junk yards for a used cluster... that way you won't screw up your nice new cluster that works as new.

I'm fairly certain that the TSX has cold-cathode gauges, not LED. Could be wrong, but I think I'm right. I think.

The 2003-2004-2005 Accord has LED. That I know for sure. But the TSX cluster looks different. Also, has a different refresh rate.
