Gas Cap Light

I have a 2006 TSX that I just got in June, Ive had no problems with it until now. Im sure its minor but the computer keeps telling me that the gas cap is not tight. Im assuming there is a vapor leak and that this should be included under my warranty. But before I take it in and waste time has anyone had this problem and would I be able to fix it. I obviously took it off and re-tightened it. The only other thing that I could think of is that the gas cap went bad, Any other suggestions on a inhouse fix.

Thanks

I have had mne only since July...but I have NOT had this issue. More than likely it is a faulty gas cap that should be covered by warranty under emissins. Good luck!

Gas Cap Light? Does it help you see the gas hole at the poor lit gas stations? I wonder if I can buy an LED for it, perhaps in blue??

Your light may reset after you burn up that tank and refill. If not, I'd be heading for the dealership. Good luck with it.

Mine did this a while back. It kept coming back on for about 3-4 fill ups then went away and to date has not come back.

The manual says something about this warning coming on if you don't tighten the cap fully (2 or 3 clicks), and then staying on for a while even after you correct the problem. Perhaps the warning just needs some time to clear.

Don't twist the gas cap in too quick, rather push in slightly as you give it a turn, and make sure you click it in at least 3 times.
