Question Forced Induction for the TSX?

What's the word? Supercharger? Turbo? I've heard rumblings for the turbo.

My 2 cents....forced induction on the TSX will be tricky because of the high compression. I havent heard of any turbo or supercharger its yet.

Turbo is also complicated by the tricky little OBD standard on the TSX. If they are having issue with mapping it for Hondata due to it's complexity, think of what it would take to optimize it for a Turbo. Good luck and keep holding your breath.

Personally I think you'd ruin a good (and reliable) motor with forced induction.

This is true. I'd probably go with a Turbo though.

if they can do it for an rsx-s(with higher compression) they can do it for the tsx.....

Agreed. I never said they couldnt do it, just that it would be tricky. And they really gotta crack that ecu to get the right air/fuel mixture.

I think a Supercharger or Turbo will be inevitable.
Once they do crack the ECU or come out with a piggy back i think we will see significant power gains come from the TSX engine.
My goal is to get mine to 260hp before forced induction.
And hold off till a few turbos or SCs are available so i can make a sound decision.
This car will be my new baby and project car for the next 3-4 years so im willing to wait on the forced induction untill the right one is out.
Jackson Racing could prolly modify the supercharger they made for the rsx type s for the TSX with no problem. and that system was almost 100 hp to the wheels gain.(the race one)

how much HP do we think the stock tranny is capable of controlling? i'm thinking the car is going to need some serious suspension and transmission work if people are planning on pulling 260+ hp out of the car.

plus is the engine itself capable of handling that much power?

bah higher compression can be handled without issue as long as you don't boost too high and with with motor being stout as it is i don't think you'll have to boost alot to see gains.

Like TinkySD said....RSX compression isn't low and they are kits available.
