Fog Lights

I have an 04 6MT and it just has those black brackets over the spot where they go.

Does it need all the wiring and such? Do I just buy a kit offline or is it a whole production? I don't have time to do it so what would be the average price a mechanic might charge?

You can buy the Kit
They come with all you need to have it installed.

Should be around $60 - $100 to have it istalled.

I've heard though that sometimes the car needs all the wiring and such and can cost a lot...so the TSX just needs the kit and then that's it?

Tsx's have a lot of the wiring already there. If I remember correctly from doing the oem kits a ways back(we don't do them to often anymore) it consisted of running a harness up front to both lights and a taped up plug, and up to the fuse box, and installing a new lighting switch/stalk. It's not to hard all plug and play, don't know about the aftermarket stuff. the oem kits are expensive if there even still available and the lights are glass and somewhat fragile.

The kits are only like 90-100 bucks.

How much would all this cost to install? I don't have time and im not good with wiring/electrical stuff.

I don't think you can get an oem kit for that, aftermarket yes. There is a difference but either will work, aftermarket i think uses a separate dash switch and different wiring. The install isn't difficult but is a little time consuming, I would go with a stereo/aftermarket type shop and show them what you have. The dealer will cost more and won't nescarilly be better. I would assume it would be at least 100 bucks to install, depending on what they charge per hour.

Just get a nice set of yellow beam projector fog lights. Fog lights are meant to cut through fog/mist/rain. HID's for this purpose will reflect the light back at you.

I love the look of HIDs, though.

Let's say I order a kit like this..

http://www.tunersdepot.com/Lighting/...le--61658.html

If I want to convert it to HID, would I then order this, too?

Looking on ebay seems as if I can this for much cheaper.

True fog lights should be at a certain light spectrum to cut thru h2o molecules. Get what you want but hids in fog lights will be like shooting light at a butch of micro reflectors. HID's also don't perform well in reflector lenses like these. It causes the light to "scatter". Hence why HID's are normally in projectors. If you do what you listed the links above, do 3000k vs. the super blue 8000k for fogs.
