Floor Mat Question

Anyone know if the ivory mats from the '04-'05 are the same shape and color shade as the '06-'08?

Pretty sure the shape is the same but called the dealer and there is a one digit difference in p/n's. Not sure if that means they changed the shade of ivory or not.

Appreciate the help if someone upgraded from the '04 to the '06 and newer with ivory interior.

there's no such thing as an ivory interior.

it's a parchment interior.

why call a bunch of tan parts ivory? I have no idea.
but it is the tan color, and the interior color is parchment.

not to confuse anyone.

and the ones like me with a quartz interior.
your light gray interior parts are moon lake gray.

anyway...

the color should be the exact same, so should the shape.
not sure if the 04-05 has the locking tabs built in though?
the ones that keep the mats from moving.

I don't think, personally, there's any difference.
that's my guess.

LOL, thanks for not flaming me on the color name...

Bottom line, you're not sure?

Acura changed a whole lot of things between 05 and 06.

And no I'm not sure, but I'll dig a bit for you.

Below is the link to buy the 04-05 set in your color:
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...LIGHT_IVORY%29

Light ivory by the way, lol.
Here is the picture for the 04-05 parts in that category:

Now let's compare that to the 06-08 set:

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...CREAM_IVORY%29

A ha! They are a different color per se.
These ones are listed as Light Cream Ivory, and the others just Light Ivory.
Hmmmm....

And the picture for these ones:

Looks like the cut and whatnot is the same.

So...

They either changed the color a bit, or just the color's name.
Which one is the real answer?
No clue.

That's the best I can do for you, sorry.

At least they didn't call them something stupid like "mocha cappuccino frappe" - I just couldn't stand to ask for them with that name

You've atoned for your sins... thanks for all the research!

BTW, where is Arizona Bay?

Arizona Bay is a body of water yet to exist.
After California falls off, it'll be there.

It's just a reference to the band TOOL, that's all really.

The only difference is the hole in the right rear mat. The 04 -05 don't have it, but the 06 onwards does. You cant see it once the mat is in place unless you really looking for it.

That's interesting, why just the rt/rear?

that's one of the things I don't like about the TSX.

not every mat has clips to hold it in place.
why the one in the rear anyways? god only knows.

not every window has the one touch open/close auto feature either.
just the driver's one.

the sunroof has no one touch control.

little stuff my G has that the TSX doesn't starts to add up fast.

Know what you mean... frustrating isn't it?

BTW, do you know about the KP Technologies One-Touch Sunroof control? Easiest install I ever did and works great!

Mat #7 in '06-08 has a retaining clip pictured ... it's been so long since I looked at my mats that I can't recall, I know one of the rear mats in my 2006 has a clip. Think it is behind the passenger.

Hiptech, what's the difference? Seem to be the same price in the links MmsTsx posted. Are you buying off eBay or something?

You nailed it, just lost out on eBay for '06-'08 set. But I just found another set that just came up for bid, so no worries.

I'd be conservative (which can be a challenge on eBay, where bid wars are soooo much fun). The Acura mats really don't last long, I hear.

The right rear mat in the 06 - 08 has the clip to keep it sliding up under the passenger seat and messing with the passenger occupancy sensors. Apparently if it gets up there the seat can't tell if there's an adult or child in it. Then it doesn't know whether or not to deploy the air bag in case of a collision.

I knew there must have been a reason why the part numbers were off by one digit... that makes perfect sense now.

Thanks litesout!

Actually, they're referencing an album by comic Bill Hicks.

correct.

but I don't want to get people all confused and such,
when they're already confused.

in their song Aenima, they sing of Arizona Bay.
or rather MJK sings of it.
