Is felt Required?

Is the felt in the doors really required? Right now I dont want to spend so much on tinting. I got quotes for $ 60 for tinting the two front doors with $40 per door to put the felt.

I got my rear two windows tinted earlier with the felt lining. But I am just wondering, if felt is really required and if not, i would think while putting them on the front doors.

In before the lock! But yeah you need to search, it has been discussed quite a bit. I got an interesting opinion from an installer who said this. "The expense and the labor involved in removing the door panels and installing the moleskin however would cost more than redoing the door panels at least once. I have a Mercedes and they have the same issues over time usually about 3 to 4 years the scratches appear on the film."

Some people have scratches without the felt and some don't. I don't think it's required. It depends on how often you roll up/down the windows or if you keep the window seals clean.
