Fair price for an '08?

I've been thinking about buying a TSX for the past several months now... and now I'm getting a lot more serious about it... I'm wondering what kind of price I can expect on an '08 Non-navi AT... I've received a couple of price quotes online, but to be honest, I think they suck (27,500 to 28,000 plus any dealer installed options, before TTL). With the '09s coming out in a couple of months, I was wondering if you thought this seemed out-of-line too... I was hoping to hit the 26,000 mark (or better, depending on how froggy I'm feeling when negotiating) with clear bra, destination, and fees, but before TTL... do any of you think this is out of the range of possibility?

I'd like to wait for the '09, but first model year blues, paying MSRP, tax on an '09, etc. make me think the '08 may be the way to go. Although, as more spy shots and info come out... who knows, maybe Acura can convince me otherwise. Does anyone know what the price will be for an '09 btw?

Thanks in advance... *no Acura pun intended.

Just as a point of reference, I paid 26848 for an 08 non-navi AT back in December. That was before TTL.

$27340-27420 were the base price the two local dealers were telling me to start with whem I asked last week... and then there was the hagling with my trade in at which I'm just horrible.

What about TSX inventory levels?
I didn't really realize it at first but the 2008 TSX is kinda OOP (if i understand correctly) and inventory is starting to dwindle. The two dealers around me had at least 3 times more Acura TL in stock. I was thinking that since this was the last year for this model cycle the dealers would be more flexible, maybe I was wrong. Well, hopefully I'll get my nice car this week as planned and they don't say they can't get my car yet.

When I was looking at '08s the other day, I was offered one with navi for $28,900. I think that is a pretty decent price. I can't remember what he quoted me on one without navi, but I think it was 26 something.

What will you be trading in?

Inventory is low, but not terrible... There are 3 dealerships within 20 miles or so that have the paint / interior / transmission I'm looking for.

None... I'm keeping my old car ('91 Accord) as a junker / backup / it might hail today car. I do have a hard time calling it a junker though... That car is amazing... It's what's bringing me back to Honda / Acura.

You should be paying invoince price or just slightly above it.

I hate going to stealers and playing games w/ them. Do this instead:

Go to edmunds and enter the TSX you want and color, submit it to as many dealers you can in your area. In the "notes" section tell them to give you the "best no haggle price." They have 24hrs to respond back.

Let us know how this turns out.

^^ I did this and got a price back from a great local dealer for $26595 incl destination. That's $30 under invoice. No haggle, no games.

I paid 29000 on October 1 of 07 for mine. That price includes tax and title. I have an '08 non-navi.

I just purchased last week and got 27925(navi/5AT) I think it was, plus dest put it at just about $100 over invoice. I might have been able to go to more dealers and get lower, but i just wanted to get it done with. Especially when I found out the car I got was delivered in AUGUST last year, 6 months on the lot! Oh well hindsight is 20/20.

After all said and done, I had 28695 I think it was, out the door(6% PA tax), with 3500 trade for my 98 Accord(a very fair price IMO, about $200 less than blue book "good" condition, considering it was starting to need some paint work). Selling it on my own(quickly) probably wouldn't have gotten me even $1000 more, so for that difference I traded in. Sold my last used car before this, just a pain.

The longer you can wait and still get your combo, the better(obviously). The dealers I visited had plenty of stock left in autos, very few 6spds.

I was like you and weighing if I should wait and go with the 09's, but the direction the new Acura models seemed to be going in, along with paying close to sticker, a first year of a redesign, getting more expensive, I choose to stick with the very sharp/classy 08 which should be well refined by now, and get a little more for my trade by doing it this year.

I got mine 6mt with Navi after Christmas 07 for 28401 + tax and lic. If you go for AT, it should be much easy to look for.

Here was the price from Stevens Creek Autowest Acura at Santa Clara, CA back in Jan 18, 08.

08 Acura TSX Premium
MSRP - $28,860.00
Invoice - $26,880.00
Selling Price - $26,230.00
Your Savings - $2,630.00

08 Acura TSX Navigation
MSRP - $30,960.00
Invoice - $28,805.00
Selling Price - $28,155.00
Your Savings - $2,805.00

I guess 26K for non-Navi AT should be very plausible now since 09 one is coming in Apr.

I got quoted $26,599 for non navi AT.

Is it best to get a low internet offer then try to haggle a sales rep not in the internet department for a lower price?

Not likely will worjk since the others start from MSRP and work back. They like these games.

New '08 Owner

Just bought one yesterday... my initial desire for price level may have been a bit over-ambitious... I got one for 26600 before TTL. The guy at the dealership actually said the car is still in transit from Japan... must have been one of the last ones off the line. I'm pretty excited about it.
