Since it's a private sale...the deal isn't as good as it seems. I think $22.5k for a certified pre-own is an awesome deal. Who knows how the guy drove the car or if there is anything wrong with it. Make sure you test drive it extensively...turn off the radio and listen to any rattles or squeaks...check around the cars for damage/scratches...and etc. Good luck!

A friend of a friend bought a brand new '05 RSX Type-S for $22k OTD in december.....the dealers are willing to deal since this is the last year.

You MUST get the title from him. Otherwise, his neighbor could show up with the title and you'd be stuck with a stolen car.

A word of caution: DO NOT buy a private sale car unless the owner has a clear title IN HAND which you can view before he fills it out and signs it over to you.

Even the best deal in the world is up in smoke if there is no clear title to be handed over. Don't fall for the 'I have to pay it off with your $$ then you get the title'.
