F*CK that PERSON THAT HIT ME TONIGHT!!!

I was on my way home from work, getting onto a highway from a ramp and traffic suddenly stopped in front of me and saw some headlights in my rearview window and BAM!!!! I thought my rear end was going to be done, my bumper is still scratched to hell though with a little dent on my right tailpipe.

To makes this worst, he left!! It was dark, I had no idea what car it was or the shape of the headlights because I was in too much shock about me car.

I HOPE HE TOTALS HIS CAR TOMORROW!!!!!!!

Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to replace or repaint the bumper???

Replace and paint will probably run you around 400 to 500 depending on if any electrical or others have been damaged.

Hang in there. Karma is going to bite that guy (or girl) in the ass.

Junkster, who had the same thing happen in his Integra.

I'm thinking more like $1,500 for a new bumper paint and labor.

DjElucid, I'm sorry that happened to you.

My sister bought a brand new A4 and three days later, it got keyed.

Lots of sociopaths in this world.

I just sorry you ran into one, and glad you are not hurt.

estimate came out to 1514.88 for re painting front bumper, replacing left front quarter panel, including labor. (this is on an 03 TL-S) should be around 1000 or below for just the rear bumper.

on a side note, call the cops and make a report. take a sample of the paint, if any rubbed off onto your car. and if he/she/it goes to shops to repaint their car, BAM, cross match, he gets busted. slim chance, but it's worth it. and plus, if you want to go with your insurance as a hit and run, you only pay deductible and no increase in premium. hope your deductible's not 500 or 1000.

DjElucid,

I already PM'ed you back. Anyway, sorry to hear about your car. I hate stupid drivers. F*ck them all. stupid drivers.

My car is now in the body shop for a similar repair, and they gave me an estimate of just under $2000. They said that the rear bumper cover, rear metal bumper, and one of the exhaust tips need to be replaced.

Hope everything will work out for you.

Be sure to go to a quality body shop because the Nighthawk Black is a difficult paint to match. It's one of the hardest.

BTW Sorry to here you got hit.

DUMBASS DRIVERS NEED TO BE KILLED

10/23/03

A night to remember. While at my resturant working, trying to keep my business running, i am greeted by my uncle walking in the resturant by saying,

"Ha you backed up into someone"
I replied back
"NO!, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT"

To my surprise I notice that some idiot ass motherfucking dumb sack of shit, backed up into my rear bumper. Though it is not bad, just the paint is all scratched, I need to repaint my back bumper. To some you may think thats not that bad, it could be worse.

Well

If you love your TSX, if you love cars, everything that happens to your car makes you upset. Some of us get mad when a bird shits on our car.

I am one of those people, and my back bumper scratched up will have me thinking about it and won't let me sleep.

If you feel the way I feel, please reply to this thread with a simple AMEN !

If it was me and I had the chance, I would have pursued the car. 10$ the driver was DUI.

Never give a chance to criminals. I already beat the hell out of a kid with a golf driver #5 when he tried stealing my wheels. Nothing like protecting property.

See, that's what I like about the kids today. Creativity. Very original, trying to steal wheels with a golf club instead of a tire wrench. :P :P :P

I got hit once in traffic... the fuck didn't even stop. I jumped out of my car... memorized his plate. But I looked at my truck and didn't see any damage. So I forgot his license plate. A week later I saw the dent. Doh.

thanks for the sympathy guys!!! I was planning to take it to my buddies shop, but then realized that it's metallic paint so it's going to be hard for them to do it, so I might just have to bend over and take it into acura. I think another paint job is fine, no real need of a new bumper (thank god). It's a new car, so I would rather get it looking like new again.

I would loved to chase the guy, but right after he hit me, he took the exit directly to his right and I wouldn't have wanted to back up and possibly hit someone else on the highway.

OH YEA AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man that really sucks - I'm sorry to hear it. Seems TSXs are not having good luck 'round here. I guess anyone can f**k up on the road and have an accident, but when one takes off and doesn't take responsibility, the penalty should be death.

That's really not so bad. I got screwed when some kid dented my Civic's side door - they basically replaced and painted the metal panel - I remember the bill coming in at over $1000, and this was a for Civic. Deep down inside, I knew the cost for the repair wasn't that much, but at least I had insurance and my deductible was only $500.

Sorry. I have felt your pain in the past! I always have a camera in my car--just a cheap single use kind with fast film. I've been able to bust some crud who denied even driving in the car that hit me once. I didn't tell anyone I had pictures until the court date, and when I heard what the defendant (and his bloody public defender) were going to claim and plead, and POW-without any physical violence, I presented my pictures, and the scum ~miraculously~ changed his plea to "No Conteste" before the jury was even selected. Carry a camera, and don't play all of your cards at once. People have an opportunity to tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Others are scum and should be busted.

Mine is barely 3 months old and some dumb broad rolled her car into the back of mine. She didn't grasp the concept of applying the parking brake FULLY and leaving her car in gear when parking on a slight incline.

The estimate just for paint on mine was $225 from a mobile bumper repair crew. I billed her $350 cause she had no insurance and I could have had her busted for that. The $125 is my inconvenience fee.

Just let them vent. After all, we paid big bucks for the TSX, not for someone to hit it and mess it up then leave. You have never been a victim of a hit-and-run, have you?

Hmm- maybe I should have clarified. I have no problem with people venting- vent all you want. What I do have a problem with is people cussing like this on a public forum.

Yes, I have been a victim of a hit-and-run; the car was fixed, and nobody got hurt.

Mojo, a public forum is what it is, with all sorts of people saying all sorts of things. While I usually don't curse myself, I don't care for some people doing it, as long as it's not over the board, and you will get not only me reacting then.

At least we don't have anyone here spreading racial slurs, or any other discriminating things against races, religions, or any other differences for that matter.

mojo just get the hell out of this thread. you have a tsx of your own. i hope someone hits you and runs, so you can feel the same way me and many other feel. so don't critisize or talk down on us cause we appreciate our car so much, and ever little thing counts.

I find the people that feel that everything should be toned down to a child-safe level to be hilarious. Nobody is going to *NOT* join a car-discussion board because one of the threads has the word "FUCK" and its various derivatives in it.

I think it's certainly possible to appreciate your car and be upset about it being damaged and NOT use foul language. This nonsense that someone doesn't "love his car" because he doesn't like to read the cursing is just childish and silly.

I'm with mojo (coincidence?), I think we can be a lot classier than that. Generally, the impression that the use of foul language gives is that the writer is poorly educated and immature, and for the most part that's not in keeping with the character of our members.

I'm not going to freak out at the sight of the odd curse word on the screen, but I'd like to think that I can read this site with my kids in the room and they won't see a page full of words I tell them they aren't allowed to use.

That's my effing anyway.
