Extended Warranty Pricing?

I am considering a new 2006 TSX, and much as I have on my 2003 RSX, I like the security of having the extended warranty. Does anyone know invoice and typical "real world" pricing that I should expect to pay for 100,000k mile coverage?

Extended Warranty Information

A good place to look for an extended warranty for 7 yrs/100,000 miles (which is usualy the terms) is Warranty Direct.com.

You can get a quote, depending upon your needs. Their prices certainly beat a dealers, but I would also try to talk the dealer down, perhaps using the Warranty Direct information, if applicable. I would NEVER purchase an extended warranty at full price from a dealer. The markup is horrible! That's another way they try to get more profit from the car sale.

Lastly, Acura's are great cars, that may not require you purchase a separate warranty. However, if you are going to keep the car for 7 years or more, or if you drive a whole lot, it may benefit you. Research it carefully, before you purchase.

I purchased an extended warranty for my last car ('97 Acura CL) from an outfit called onesourcewarranty. It was for 10yr/100,000 miles. They went out of business before my warranty term was up. Fortunately I was selling the car anyway.
When I purchased my TSX in March I was undecided as to whether or not to get a warranty but I knew that if I did it would be through Acura. The dealer, of course, wanted an outrageous amount and I declined at first. I dwelled on it for a couple of weeks and realized that I personally would feel more comfortable with an extended warranty (although I never buy them for anything else).
Several Acura dealers sell them online. Hondacuraworld.com and curryacura.com come to mind. I printed out a quote from an online dealer and took it to my dealer where I had purchased the car and they met the price.
I ended up paying $1335 for 8yr/100,000 miles with zero deductible. I believe others have paid even less.
Ultimately I know I made the right choice because before I bought it I couldn't stop thinking about it.
Incidentally, the warranty on my CL ended up paying for itself in the long run. I had to have the drivers side seat heater replaced, I had the AC go out. Seems there was something else as well but I can't recall.
Good luck with your decision.
