Question Exposed wire socket

Note the spot circled red:




Now Close up:





Is yours like this ? looks a bit too exposed to me.

it should be ok - my guess is that the black sleeving is to keep the wires bundled.

the wires you have circled still have their proper insulation over the conductors anyway.

That's pretty much going rate. The insulation is high-temp oil and gas resistant. This also lets the mechanic get to the wires for testing during service issues.

the wires can never be totalled sleeved - how would you move the wires to connect it to the connector if it was?

I thought it's supposed to be close to be just like a plug.
I mean looks like you better not have any fluid like rain, snow, oil etc fall on that spot or something is going to get shorted or cooked
