Do any of you guys have the owner of that tsx's email? I noticed that he's in VA, and I'd like to contact him about it.

Wow that is sweet!
It's a dealer installed option.
I am soooooo tempted.

How is the operation? is it a motorized operation or does it work like our sunglasses holder?

I'm pretty sure I test drove that TSX at Pohanka Acura back in June. I didn't know the DVD system was back there until the dealer showed it to me. The player is installed up front in one of the accessory compartments. I don't believe it's motorized.

ssm_tsx:

I clicked on his "profile" and submitted an email to him requesting for more information on this "DVD Unit". I let you know what he says.

It's a factory option available at your dealer for about $1500.00. and no it won't play on the nav screen

I had a DVD/MP3 player (Blaupunkt) installed in my '01 MDX with a Clarion flipdown monitor for backseat (rows 2 and 3) viewing. Also included a tv tuner w/directional antennas, FM modulator for sound through the audio system or wireless headphones and everything was hooked up to play on the nav screen, too. It can be done!! The DVD is under the driver's seat and the plug and play tuner for DVD/PS2 video is on top of the nav unit under the front passenger's seat. The mounting obviously will be different on the TSX because the nav unit is in the trunk and there's not a lot of room on the headliner behind the moon roof for the back seat passengers. I think the headrest monitors would work better.
I saw photos of such an installation on this forum.

I'm in Phoenix. I had the aftermarket unit installed at my local Best Buy installation department. There was a group buy on these plug and play units (see the following link):

http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...ight=sams+tuner

Works great in my '01 MDX. If you do a search on the TSX forum in Audio and Electronics you can find some more information.

When I first went to look at the TSX at a dealer here in Phoenix, there was only one on the lot and it was slightly used, but it had a dvd setup installed similar to the one I have in the MDX so I'm sure it can be done. I'm also sure that the dealer wont install it.

Yes it can be done, i'm not saying that. What i was saying is that its not going to do it out of the box with the factory kit. If you want it to play on the nav you'll have to do custom setup
