i used to love splashing thru puddles and mud when i had my jeep, did u feel your car hydroplane? been quite a few instances when i hit some moderate puddles and felt the tires start to hydroplane.

Typically the traction control wil try to kick in and at least make you feel controlled in the hydroplane right? I know the stock TSX tires are pretty much junk, but do you think with better tires it'll do better with hydroplaning resistance?

I had something similar happen, however the Cruise Control was set . The Cruise control automatically disengaged when the tires start to slip.
Not a great way to find out but glad it disabled it.
Some engineering by Honda!

A couple of months ago we drove up I5 in a rainstorm at night. The worst thing was passing the big 18-wheelers as they would kick up a whirlwind of rain, and street moisture into tiny little droplets. When its nightime and the HID headlamps hit this water you go completely blind from all the light, you just can't see anything. It was really bad. Finally, I figured out that the best option was to trail the semi by about 15-20 yards and give it 10-20 seconds to make sure there was nobody close in the lane in front of me and then to just punch it and pass the truck as fast as possible. With the trucks doing around 65mph I was probably doing around 85-90mph by the time I went past the front of the cab.
