Thanks CK for these great pictures. Great post. I told you 31-36 mpg is a good bet for hwy driving

36-38 mpg is possible if you cruise at 60-70 mph, but that's slow nowadays.

Is the drive back to San Francisco from LA better if I take 101? I don't want to take I-5 because it's going too boring.

Yeahh grapvine gave my moms rental kia sedona a hard time on our drive from Sacramento to Anaheim. I always wondered how my 06 TL would do there since it has grade logic control...

Hmmm.. i have that same pic of the lil lake or whatever that body of water is...

And do you know why Magic Mountian is closing? It's so much better than the six flags in Vallejo...

BTW nice TSX...

Save the wash and wax for after the trip, otherwise you'll just have to wash again to get rid of the bug splatter.

I used to drive from Stockton to Orange County like once every month or two due to going to school up there.

It's hard not to speed on that stretch of the 5 freeway. Lots of people tend to go 90-100+ mph.

Huh...I don't get quite the gas mileage you guys talk about. I usually average 30-32 MPG on the highway. Then again, I do have the first gen and my car does have 77k on it! But I must mention that it drives no different than the '06 TSX loaner /w 2k on the clock that I was given by the dealer at my last major service (70k)!

However, it is the first car I've owned that performs just as well at high altitude as it does at sea level. Every time I go to my parents house in Twain Harte, CA (almost 4k feet above sea level), it impresses me every time how responsive the car is. My parents both own GM trucks, and my last car was a '96 Ford Thunderbird V8, and all of them showed a noticeable performance decrease when in the mountains. But nope, not the TSX!

bear in mind that the automatic TSX does have better mileage than a 6spd, but im more than happy to give up that 1-2 mpg for a real tranny

take i5, its better for gas mileage. 101 is full of turns and random hills and its longer

i went 100 for a mile, felt guilty about it but boy was that car smooth at 100 mph. it didnt even feel like 100. i was just worried about those "enforced by radar" "enforced by aircraft" signs.

i didnt use cruise control at all, personally i dont really like it because you dont have full control over the car. still got 34mpg :-)
