Driving Impressions - 500 Miles

Here are a couple of observations on my TSX as I just put 500 miles on the odometer this weekend:

This is a great car. It is a lot of car for the money...I am very happy overall with the performance and looks. I would recommend this to anyone looking in the price range. In fact, two of my friends thought the car was in the 30's in terms of price.

So far I have one issue - the dimming mirror doesnt seem to dim. I am going to talk to my dealer - I never had one before but I cant seem to see a difference with it on or off.

One other observation is the auto trans and/or drive by wire throttle. There seems to be a lag when driving at low speeds around town. Our 2001 Accord has an auto that was one of the problem trannys Honda had and it hunts for low gears a lot worse than the TSX. I still sense a slight hesitation with the Acura at times. I am hoping its just the car and not a problem.

I am sure this post isnt earthshattering but I figured it might be a good post for someone looking to buy. Thanks again to all who helped me out and answered my questions during the buying process.

Was your Accord a I-4 or V6? Only the V6 transmissions really had a consistent problem.

As for the TSX, you might want to check out www.vtec.net

Jeff there has a TSX and noticed a bit of "lag" in the Drive By Wire system and even put up a chart to show it.

Thanks for the reply. Our Accord is a 4 cylinder and we just had the tranny replaced via extended warranty at 65K. In my opinion the tranny logic in those model Accord is not that great - my 92 Civic was better at finding the right gear than the Accord EX is.
